Will it Work/Fit (ignition switch has extra terminal)?

The "Made in Taiwan" ignition switch I recently purchased to replace the factory switch in the '65 Valiant Signet convertible has an extra terminal labeled "GRD". Physically, I can still plug it in, but what happens if I do? in photo, the "GRD" terminal is shown in the upper left quadrant. Thank you.

"Should". You do not need a ground.

You can check the pin out and compare to OEM.

And if the extra ground pin does not prevent the connector from going on then you should be golden

The later switches came both ways, so, this is a way to just stock one switch instead of two. If your car doesn't need the ground connection, and the connector fits fine, you should be good.
