Window went bye bye

Hey guys:

When I rolled the driver's window up in my '71 Valiant today, it dropped into the door and stayed there, lol. Luckily it didn't break.

Before I tear into it, is there anything known to cause this and anything to prevent it again?

Could be a broken rivet on one of the rollers.

Could be a broken rivet on one of the rollers.

There's a nylon rivet that connects the glass to the roller track. If it's broken, something like you describe could happen. R/T Specialities has them.

You need to be very careful removing the upholstery panel from the door frame. Also make sure the moisture barrier is properly fitted when you seal it up. Otherwise, this is not a difficult fix.
