I know it's not an A-Body, but when was the last time you saw a Dodge Daytona used as a tow vehicle?

I've seen that guy for years out at the Spring/Fall Flings and other SoCal shows, awesome use of the car's grunt. He's a neat guy to talk to about mopar as well. He's from the Palm Desert area of CA, and actually runs the car in track days as well. Plus he's got nice prices on all the odd little pieces you never think about until you need them.

I agree, I have seen him around for a while also. He always seems to have that big trailer in tow. The car sounded great as he pulled it into the Fling on Saturday.

I think it is the ultimate in cool to use this car like he does. It is a testament to how well built they were back in the day.

Thank You!

It is worth a little more than a new truck with a diesel, but sure gets more attention than a F450 king ranch would get

Back in the day a lot of cars had trailer hitches. Not everyone had a truck. They had cars and small trailers.

My 70 duster had a hitch i put on to tow the boat.

70 Barracuda Grand Coupe had a hitch when I bought it, still got it if anyone needs a trailer hitch for a 70~74 e body cuda

Buddy had a hitch on his 68 Mustang

Guy in car club bought a new 74 Roadrunner and put a hitch on it to pull a travel trailer.

I seen a 69 Mustang fastback with a trailer hooked to it several times this past summer

Guy down the street as I was growing up had a 71 GS with hitch

Probably not too many Daytona's were used as tow vehicles, but with standard 440 it should pull it OK. The big problem would be the brakes not big enough for much of a trailer.

I too have seen that car. I thought he cloned it though back in the day?

Its Ray Muchado's (SP)car, he runs Winged Warriors.com. He was friends with Jack McCoy

WildCat is correct.....back in the day, pick-ups were mostly farm vehicles.
They were plain jane and not very comfy.
My dad pulled a boat as well as a farm tractor with his 68 Coronet cop car.
Even better, a friend of mine towed a single axle camper from New Jersey to LA with a flattie powered 32 Ford 5 window back in the mid 50s. He still has the car.

I wonder if it is? There are a few cloned cars around the mid west, the only changes to the body is you need the rear window and I think they sell everything you need to do it.

I don't think I'd be using it for a tow vehicle if it is the real deal but I know of several people that use rare and high dollar cars for their only driver and don't care. My uncle has a Barris Merc and uses it for a driver, he put 183000 miles on it since he has owned it which amazes me since this is the kind of car you see at Barret Jackson.

I wonder if it is a real daytona!
Either how its cool!

I have tow bar on my charger haha ;)
Sleeper lol

I thought his name was Joe Machado.

It's a clone car but still pretty cool.

DOH, your right, brain fade there.

Yes it is a real Daytona, i was talking to him at the mopar show in Everett Wa, last summer.

Jack McCoy and him were friends. They were going to take the Daytonas down to Sears Point for the get together down there, before he passed away. I dont know if the guys at his shop ended up taking his cars.

Havent talked to Brian down in Modesto for a bit.
