Going to replace the windshield lock ring on my 1965 Dart GT. Can anyone tell me how to get the wiper arms off? Thought there was a lock ring at the base of the arm that you swung out of the way using a small screw driver. Do not see anything like that on the arms. Do I have arms that are removed some other way and if so how what do I do?

Do they have a captured bolt on the top? If not, there is a little tang sticking out underneath that you push up and away from the pivot shaft! I usually use a flat pry bar, and lay a rag folded up many times as a base against the body! I put one tip of the flat bar against the tang release and gently pry that back whil applying upward pressure against the wiper arm! If you have the bolt on style, you need to loosen the bolt and pry up as mentioned above without worry of the tang! Hope this helps, Geof

I did feel a tang with my finger. Did not know if I should push it up or pull it down. Do not know what I would do without all the help I get from everyone out there.
Will try what you said and let you know what happens.

Just finished removing the wiper arms! Instead of pushing the tang up I had to pull it down and then used a screw driver, resting on a plastic scraper, to pry up on the base of the arm right at the shaft. Came off with no problem. Thanks for the help.

Thanks. I was going to answer wrong since I just removed them on my 64 Valiant. Those have a top nut. I now recall the wipers were off my 65 Dart when I got it. They must have changed to the later "release tab" then. My 65 Newport has that I recall. Then, my 96 & 02 minivans have top nuts again.
