I pulled the wiring harness from the engine compartment of my 65 barracuda today. What should I do to clean and protect the connections when I finish painting and begin the reassembly

Well if you got time you could always snip the terminals off and crimp new ones on that way you have fresh contact points.

Buy some electronic terminal cleaner, get a toothbrush and then get some Dielectric grease for afterwards to coat the terminals protecting them

I thought I would order a few parts while I am pulling the engine and getting ready to paint. I know the voltage regulator, ballast resistor. What else would you recommend. I have new plugs and points.

How is your engine compartment wiring harness? I would go ahead and replace if it appears to be original.
Piece of cake to install and you can get a complete bulkhead foreward harness for around $250

Harness doesn't look that bad, just wanted to see how to clean and protect the connections. Thanks

This is a handy tool for bulkhead or really any female type connector.
A fingernail file. Buy a pack that are thin and just cut tips to fit inside of your terminals. File each one then clean with terminal cleaner and add dielectric grease as others have recommended.

I have never thought about that idea. Thanks for the advice. Now my wife will be asking what happened to her files

What are the three boxes on the firewall. One is the voltage regulator and the ballast resistor. What is the other one. I can't think

I just couldn't think of what that was called. I'm going to have the alternator and starter rebuilt locally. At least that is my current plans.
