I have a co-worker that is selling her Grandmothers car. A 69 (she thinks) Super-Bee, stick shift, 383, "Purple" Original owner with full documentation, including reciepts from oil changes. She says the only flaw in it is a scratch on the fender from a tree branch. They are asking $18,000

Is it worth it?

I'm going to go see it this weekend & get pics, what should I look for?

Yes. Look for the Normal B-body Trouble areas, Back windown sill, Trunk space, finderwells and undercarage. Checkl all of those places for rust. If you have any questions IM me on Yahoo, my handel is Greengiant13

Do 383 cars really go for that much ?

If its an origanal purple car its probably a 70 or 71

Get the VIN, you can use the VIN decoder on this site to get the information on what the car really is!

I planned on that. Thanks for all your input guy's!

If the VIN starts off with WM, then its a real Bee. I've got 2..a 68 and a 70. Good luck!! :D

to me a 68 is cool, a 69 is way cooler, and a 70....well it's a breed of its own and i love them.
Good luck with it, for me 18k for a 383 is not worth it, but if you like it and want it then go for it.

I had a '68 once... My girlfriend (now my wife) made me get rid of it.

440, ready to race.

{sigh}

When I picked up the Duster, we had a long talk about it. I told her I was keeping it, no matter what. She didn't like it, and still doesn't like it. But they're both still here. So I guess I won, this time!

Now if only I could convince her about the bike, I'd be a happy guy. But she's no budging on that one.

If that scratch is the only thing wrong with it, I might pay up to 15 maybe.
It is only a 383.

I thought it was a little steep too, they tried to sell it at the Turkey rod run in daytona last year. Thier excuse for no one buying it was that it wasn't a Hemi. It sounds like Grandma was the only Moparite of the bunch.

I don't think I'll be getting it, since I gave my notice at work Friday, & I'm waiting on another offer. But I still have to see it, just in case!
