5 quarts with a 51515 (standard length) May be a little less oil with the shorter filter. May be an oz. or two. Not enough to worry about.Same oil capacity when changing the oil?
Are you running a factory 90° oil filter adapter?May have an issue with header clearance. Are there any Wix options that would work with roughly a 3.5in or less height?
Wix 51335. About 2.5 inches tall.May have an issue with header clearance. Are there any Wix options that would work with roughly a 3.5in or less height?
I'd rotate that filter adapter rearward (as intended) to get more filter clearance.
Gotcha. Previous owner must have installed incorrectly. Is that a simple process? Do I need to remove completely and get new gaskets, etc.? Or, does it just twist when loosened?I'd rotate that filter adapter rearward (as intended) to get more filter clearance.

Will do. Regarding a high volume oil pump that I'm installing, will any of those Wix options work or should I look for something else that is specific to high volume?I would try it. Loosen, twist carefully, and tighten. You might want to get a gasket kit first though just in case you tear the gasket.

I'd run an extra quart, then. 6 total instead of five. Also, I will be running a new high volume Melling pump. Anything to consider when choosing a filter?
Is that okay with a stock oil pan?I'd run an extra quart, then. 6 total instead of five.
