Wix Oil Filter

What is the correct Wix filter for an LA 360? I see both 51068 and 51515.

Either one will work. Only difference is 51068 is shorter and 51515 is longer.

51515 is the regular length filter. 51068 is the shorter version.

5 quarts with a 51515 (standard length) May be a little less oil with the shorter filter. May be an oz. or two. Not enough to worry about.

Are you running a factory 90° oil filter adapter?

i've always run the 51068 with either the 90* adapter and manifolds or tti headers no adapter.. fit both well for me.

Wix 51335. About 2.5 inches tall.

The only consideration with this filter is because of it's size- since it's about half the size of one of the standard filters, I'd change it out midway between oil changes. Just something to keep in mind.

Gotcha. Previous owner must have installed incorrectly. Is that a simple process? Do I need to remove completely and get new gaskets, etc.? Or, does it just twist when loosened?

I would try it. Loosen, twist carefully, and tighten. You might want to get a gasket kit first though just in case you tear the gasket.

They should work fine with a HV pump.

i"d have a new set of gaskets laying there. hell i'd probably just go new gaskets and be done with it...

yes those wix filters will be fine with a hv oil pump.
