You need to be careful depending on which bolt you have. One of them is weak and will twist easily. I caint ever remember which one.

I think there's 3 different ones. The one with the slot is strong followed by the 4 hole offset drilled one. The 3 hole one twists easily.

why would you give up filtering capacity and flow capacity using a smaller filter? Protect you engine investment!

Ok cool! I was unaware of the slotted one. The one that's weak has the holes aligned.

My only concern about filters that are shorter is there is less filter material area.

UNLESS they increase the length (ie number of pleats) to compensate.
