I heard about this several days ago. With everyone massively using hand sanitizer there’s a danger to your pets especially dogs. Don’t let them lick your hands. Apparently hand sanitizers have ingredients that are found in antifreeze. I asked my vet and she confirmed that. You should also let the sanitizer totally absorb in the skin before handling food. Maybe a further look into this is prudent.

I should ad that what I have been reading some articles say no, doesn’t cause harm while others say yes. Probably air on the side of caution.

They make an alcohol-free version. Supposedly baby-safe too. So it should be O.K. for the canines as well. We hope.

Not directed at the OP, thanks for posting.

Its not the alcohol that's the problem (it is, but its not what the OP is talking about). A lot of them have some sort of glycol added to prevent freezing, same stuff we pour in our radiators.

Sounds like some misinterpretations.
The stuff in most antifreeze that is highly toxic to animals is a ethylene glycol.
Some use propylene glycol which is basically non-toxic.

Neither is in 'hand sanitizer'
