Wow. Have you noticed the HUGE amount of stuff for sale here lately?

-
I have so much stuff that I should list for sale that it isn’t funny. Getting shipping quotes is a pain for me and the fact that sooner or later our PayPal and payment apps are going to penalize us with a 1099. Not sure when but it’s coming.
tape measure and a scale, pirate ship or another 2nd party shipping company makes it super easy to ship now. literally measure, weigh, plug in the zip and you'll have a quote. you can even have USPS or UPS pick up the packages from you.

PP is already on 1099 that's why everybody wants F&F payment. so either venmo, F&F or USPS money order if you want to Al Capone it.

adios that stuff and treat yourself to a nice steak and the gatitos to some fancy feast!

I can tell you this. There have been a TON of scammers popping up on Marketplace lately. @66340SEDAN Keith will verify that.

About 27 years ago, when I was restoring my 69 Barracuda for the first time, I needed a lot of stuff. It was before the internet (at least before I had internet), and I had little choice but to go to Mopar Nats and other bigger Mopar shows and look through the swap meet and manufacturers midway. Not that I minded going to the Mopar shows, but it was kind of hard to find some of the things I needed, and the prices weren't always great. I wish I had had access to something like this forum for parts back then.

I just started using Pirate ship. It's super cheap and easy... like girlfriend in high-school
Seriously though, the rates to ship are good.

It must be Tax time soon......that's what happens here.

All of a sudden a month out from taxes being due, tradies are selling off their toys.
Every year without fail.

Yeah, I don't think I've seen anything out of the ordinary.

Maybe just the seasonal uptick caused by the arrival of the Christmas credit card bill, last years W2, and the consideration of the upcoming tax bill. And the also seasonal "all this crap doesn't fit in my garage and it can't be outside because of the weather" thing.

As for car values, well, Mecum Kissimmee set an all time car classic car auction sales record at over 275 million dollars. The 2023 total was 234 million, so the classic car market seems pretty good. I mean, we were just talking about a Duster that sold for $160,000 weren't we? I'd say there's still a lot of people with a lot of money spending it on classic cars.

Some people like myself have winter projects going on. I'm taking off perfectly good parts and replacing them with better parts. I don't have storage space. Marketplace is a bunch of scammers and dreamers, but it's a necessary evil. I try to stay off the rest of FB

I think the issue has been hit on. Both trying to recover from Christmas by letting go of unneeded items and also people getting tax refunds back. That's probably the whole ball of wax. The whole nine yards. The whole enchilada. The whole shootin match.

I’m glad guys stay away from facebook and marketplace because that leaves more for me. I’ve bought and sold so much stuff, race cars included on marketplace that it isn’t funny. I found my valve seat machine there one afternoon and jumped in my car for a 120 mile road-trip to purchase it. Bought a head pressure tester and he threw in another one and delivered everything four days later. The search feature is fantastic

Love FB Marketplace... just gotta weed out the crap... found my '65 pushbutton trans (splined tailshaft, one year only) for $250+ a 12 hour round trip... plus the insane ads are fun to see also..

I turned some friends on to some 727 cores over the weekend and my buddy ran out to Ohio last night (115 miles) and bought a 8 3/4 posi housing for 100.00. I’m always looking so if I know friends need something I pass on the info. I bought 8 pairs of LS heads and an intake in about four weeks.

The Mecum auctions and the average Joe collector car guy have nothing in common.
FB Marketplace has way too many scammers!
FB car sites have some really good guys like FABO.
US credit card deb is at all time high. The economy for many is not that great. Way more stuff for sale than buyers.
FB Marketplace is full of crack heads, dreamers, and just plain idiots.
I am in Texas and it is NOT a Mopar state.
I have lots of small parts brand new I don't need, but selling stuff on here and shipping is a huge PIA period.
I do good to have the USPS actually delivery my mail in the country here! Go figure!

The ebay link wasn't any good?
Still bargain hunting, I was thinking the price should be a little better but I might have to resort to ebay.

Thing is, summer is on the way and stuff seems to move around when it's warm because of swap meets, car shows and cruising.

Hopefully you carry a firearm.
Anytime I leave the house I'm carrying and I'm getting that way more and more even around on my property. My mail box is out on the street and packing just to go out to check the mail is a good idea these days.

I sell a lot of non car related stuff on FB and 99% of the time it's for cash. Just sold a lot of Chevy stuff for the widow of a long time friend of mine and it too was all cash.
I have stuff up for sale, but seats and large items I just post dirt cheap locally. Just sold a pair of buckets with tracks for $200. Its not really for the money as much as the space.
I'm doing the same.....just don't need everything I have these days and like more space.

Yup...scammers everywhere but it's not a problem if you recognize how they operate. Every now and then I'll run into something new but usually they are not hard to figure them out. I still have a hard line and only give out my cell phone number if I feel like they are on the up and up.

I can imagine that area has it's fair share of crack heads.....? Rye is terrible for CH's!! The Houston area isn't a Mopar town but Dallas area is much better. Don't know about the other areas around here but idiots are everywhere. And I'm starting to get lousy service from the PO too. :(

You're lucky. The swap meets around here are mostly chevy, ford and friggin Pontiac

I’m not super close to Carlyle but it’s in Pa and probably one of the bigger Mopar sale site in the United States. I’ve never gone but many of my friends go every year.

I've been debating about going. I'm not entirely convinced yet that it's worth it for F and M body stuff
