Had a x pipe installed yesterday.

I really like the sound of the side by side exhaust in that video!
X pipe did kill all of that nice sound...
But if you get any extra HP with that X that's fine.

The exhaust in the pipes isn't consistently "full". The exhaust is in pulses from each cylinder - "waves". So there are actual low and high pressure areas, but all moving pretty fast. The trick is to optimize the lengths and diameters of the headers, including and X or H additions in the system. Hold your hand to an exhaust pipe and you'll feel the pulses.

I put a 3" X-pipe and UltraFlo mufflers on my race car. It picked up between .05 and .10 over an open exhaust with collectors. I believe carb liked 1-2 numbers less jet as well after jetting was as good as I could get it with open headers. X pipe helped and those mufflers didn't hurt. I would think that 500+ HP would benefit more from a 3.5" exhaust.
still think it`s a small engine full exhaust trick. don`t see a benefit for a hot big block w/ suffiecient low end, that it can stand less torque down low, that has too much anyway.

I'd like to see and hear a Mopar BB with 180* headers... That would be something!

I keep this car on the street 99% of the time with an occasional jaunt down the track when I do a track day, I have the exhaust assembled with header collector style joints in several key places to make the exhaust system fairly easy to remove. I run down the track with open headers and no exhaust system on the car beyond the collectors. That said, since I am not seeking every ounce of performance on the street, I opted for straight 3" exhaust with no crossover pipe of any kind. I also like the look and sound with the factory style chrome tips. Personal preference. I have run dumps before the axle, but all it does is stir up dust everywhere I go.. LoL..
