It's not an A-body, but I thought it was interesting. Saw this for sale on US41 north of Attica IN. I think if I had this, I would drive it just as it is.

I agree and I think that rust will buff out.

No................I think it needs Macco.

the engine is a thing of beauty! definatly suprising when you look at the car :love7:

i like the 57-58 mopars alitle better but i would love to have one of those just for late night cruising in town with a sober driver, some friends, some oldtime rock n roll on the stereo a beer in my hand with my girl next to me in the backseat during a hot summernight

Nice car but the hemi is probably not original, they stopped production on them in 58 i think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Either way the motor is probably worth more than the rest of the car X2. Very nice.

im not sure about the last year for the 1g hemi, but being a Plymouth it would not have ever been a hemi car factory.

58 was the last year for the early Hemi, so this is a transplant done at some point in time. That motor is probably worth at least half of what the price of the car is; if it were rebuilt, at least $6 to $7000. It appears to be the single 4 392 - rated at 345HP. Rebuild parts are available for it through Hot Heads and other places. I've got a completely rebuild (with some modifications) single 4 392 sitting on the stand waiting for the right project to come along.

Edit - early Hemi's were available in Chryslers 331, 354, & 392), Dodges (241, 270, 315 and 325)and DeSotos (271, 291 and 341). Parts interchange only within each family.

I've thought about putting Hemi heads on my 270 in the '56.... but then I would still only have 270cid, So I guess a 440 makes more sence... and power :)
