My chevy Silverado ext-cab 4WD PU frame feels like it is vibrating in the middle right where that thing broke apart. I have actually entertained the notion of reinforcing the frame with angle iron welded onto the C section.

there is a frame reinforcement kit for the 89-98 GM CK series frames. Contact your local towing & recovery equipment upfitter and they will hook you up. This kit is required on all GM 1 1/2 ton and under chassis before mounting a towing or service bed.
