    The Dart is gone

Well guys, I delivered the Dart to it's new owner Saturday. I sure am going to miss that car, but I have comfort knowing it will be in good hands. Scotty from MoparTech.net plans to use it as his driver. Hopefully I will get to see it again in the near future. Anyway, I have LOTS of leftover...

13.99 or faster requires a helmet - what do i need?

I was under the impression that the main difference between a motorcycle helmet (M2000) and a non-motorcycle helmet (SA2000) was the lining. Motorcycle helmets have fire retardent nomex versus nylon used on non-motorcycle helmets. The outer fiberglass shell is essentially the same. Is this correct?

    Removing glue from aluminum

It depends on what type of glue it is. Try denatured alcohol. If that doesn't work, then try WD-40. Is this aluminum piece polished, anodized, plain?

    Help decode this VIN

I was looking at a police impound auction listing and saw this: VIN - D13AB2S562499 1972 Dodge Any idea what this might be? The VIN decoder here comes back with a lot of invalid fields.

    Streetable 11 second small block

From what I've heard, ShadyDell is THE place to get your Eddy heads ported. I know he does engines too, but I saw on his website he is catering more to the high end (read high dollar) crowd. For the cam, don't settle for an off the shelf Comp grind. Get a custom designed cam tailored for your...

    Help Info Crankshaft

The difference is the diameter of the main journals. The 273, 328, and 340 blocks have a 2.5" diameter main. The 360 blocks have a 2.81" diameter main. So no, you can't run a 340 crank in a 360 block. You can use a 360 crank in a 340 block, but you would have to turn the mains down to 2.5". If...

    Rock Auto

Yeah, I just ordered an a/c compressor for my son's truck a few minutes ago. Rock's price on a brand new compressor was cheaper than what the local auto parts store wanted for a reman. And believe it or not, the 5% discount MORE than covered the shipping cost of the compressor. Can't beat that...

    Missing fender tag

http://www.datatags.com/ http://www.trimtags.com/index.html There's a couple sources for reproduction tags. I see no harm in creating a new tag when you add 'factory' options to a car that did not originally have them for your own personal satisfaction. Now the gray area is car...

    onehellofadart???tire wheel combo???

Hey Tony, how much space do you have on the inside of the tire/wheel? Could you have gone with more backspace? Hard to tell from this pic, but it looks like the limiting factor would be either the tire to the leaf spring or perhaps the tire to the lower mounting bolt for the Caltrac bar.

    M-body ?

I saw this Diplomat thumbing through a weekly auto sales ad yesterday. It's not like I need another project, but this thing got me thinking. It's a '85 with a 318 but according to the ad it has 'engine knock'. I assume the crank is probably trashed, but the block should be okay. Being an '85 it...

    Why a suregrip?

An open differential drives both wheels, but if one of the wheels looses traction then ALL the torque is directed to that one wheel that is spinning. This is what the majority of cars have. These are often refered to as a 'peg leg' rear end. A limited slip differential is one that 'limits'...

    Intake quetion

Well the SP2P and a 500 to 600 cfm carb would make a nice street combo. More power than a stock 2bbl and probably better gas milage too, provided you don't keep your right foot to the floor. Add a dual exhaust system and electronic ignition and it would be a lot of fun with those 3.55 gears and...

    Intake quetion

I have an SP2P on my 318. Throttle response is great. It runs out of breath around 4500rpm though. A more aggressive than stock cam might help a little bit, but it is really not what I would call a performance manifold.

    Big or Small???

Sounds kind of like what I am building with my Dart. With the TKO-600 you need at least 3.73 gears or else you will be lugging the engine in 5th gear at 55mph (only 1600rpm). Actually, depending on cam choice, 3.91 or 4.10 would be closer to optimal. With 4.10 gears and 26" tires your 60mph...

    Got a 5.2/5.9 Magnum? I need a favor, please.

Thanks again Dave. That is what I was thinking all along but I just haven't been able to get my hands on a Magnum intake to measure it. And thanks for the offer on the fuel rail, but I think I'll pass. I'm saving my money for a set of these. RossMachineRacing Gremlim, we need to meet up...

    Got a 5.2/5.9 Magnum? I need a favor, please.

Thank you Dave. I appreciate you taking the time to measure that for me. As best I can tell from your photo that is 1-9/16" between adjacent ports and 7-1/8" between the pairs. Unfortunately that does not match what I measured on the manifold I am building. I need 1.3" between adjacent ports and...

    Got a 5.2/5.9 Magnum? I need a favor, please.

Yes, I know that. But what I want to know is do the ports line up? What I am doing is modifying a LA intake manifold for port fuel injectors. What I need to know is can I use a fuel rail meant for a Magnum engine. For it to work, the intake ports MUST be in the same locations relative to each...

    Got a 5.2/5.9 Magnum? I need a favor, please.

I need to know the center-to-center distance for the fuel injectors on a 5.2/5.9 Magnum with MPFI. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out here. I need the distances for 'A', 'B' and 'C' in this diagram, where the O's are the injector bungs. Please measure as accurately as...

Damn, you work fast. :thumblef: Did you get new lower control arm struts? Or at least new bushings? I did not see them in your list of goodies, unless they are a part of the rebuild kit.
