Treasures found under the seats

-
Your pics remind me of my car (mine has been sitting for 15 years too), I like yours better though, you have an "S" after the GT. All I found in my car was fast food wrappers and some pocket change dated from years ago. The guy I bought the Dart from also had a Hurst Olds for sale, this is what I found when I opened the door...........

Hey streetdak, sorry to burst your bubble but "real" silver dollars were last minted in 1964.

I'm sure your right, I was going off of the top of my head cause I'm at work. When I looked up all the years, they were real silver coins, so I think i got the years mixed up. I'll take look when I get home. Thanks though!

my buddy bought a amx and we went to pick it up.Sitting on the back seat was a large dufflebag filled with about 15-20 large caliber handguns. (we peeked) owner looked sheepish and said they were his kids paint ball guns.....NOPE. we didnt press the issue any further

I found a bunch of nearly mint 1964 coins in my 65 valiant under the back seat, along with a bunch of kiddie toys. My favorite finds have been in the quarter drop pockets in the trunk... tools, parts, and an NOS reverse light set!

nothing to amazing in my 72 duster, I found a small plaque from a Mopars at the pond event here in MI.

and I found some live .22 shells inside the frame of the dash the had been rattling around for what looks like 30+ years.

no build sheets or any other goodies found being that some other people had their grubby hands on my car prior to me being the owner.

I bought a 1974 Formula Firebird as a gift to my mom, when I was detailing the thing I found a .357 (loaded) and a box of ammo for it, all of the hollow points. Somebody really meant business. I called the police and turned the gun in (no numbers on the gun). When the cops showed up for the gun, it went down like this:

Police: "why are you turning this in, most people would've kept it"
Me: "Don't need or want it"
Police: "why is that?"
Me: "Because (i'm saying this all while pulling mine out) mines better, (Desert Eagle .50 AE BABY!!!! Concealed weapons permits rock!)"
Police: "Got a permit for that?!"
Me: "Yep, here you go"

The Police officer became quite pale until I whipped out the permit, you could hear it in his voice that he was quite nervous over this. Afterward we both thought it was funnier then sh*t.

While stripping a Black 67 GTS for paint,I pulled off the rear trim panel between the tail lights. On the panel the bottom lip is rolled up and someone had slipped 1967 pennys into the slot all across the back of the panel. They had to be put there on the production line as we got the car from the original owner and it had never been apart.I also once found a paper Dixie cup in a 71 GTX that had Chrysler Corp. printed on it.It had a picture of Tech on it.Tech was Chryslers animated teacher on training films that they sent to the dealers in the 60's and 70's.I bought a 1970 Superbee that was in storage since 1976 and when I pulled out the back seat,I found the paper backs from the Scat Pack Bees from when they were installed in the windows at the factory,I also found a paper sack with some amp tubes in it and a reciept dated 1970 and made out to Pfanenstiel polka band. There was also a pit pass from Great Bend Dragway.

I found some aluminum siding and insulation on the remainder of the floor in my dart. Also found a very nice live wasp nest tucked under the rear shackle support. That was one hell of a treasure.

I don't care much for snakes! especially in cars. Your Dart looks a lot like mine. Nice little project, mine had the 4 flat rotten tires too.

I found a 98 Washington State D/L behind the glove box of my barracuda, so Mr Russell James Zellman of Everett, I have your old car...

Nothing but build sheets, and a Mexican coin, some dead rats, and a set of NOS rear marker lights for a 70 Dart, all still packaged up.

Cool thread. I found this 73 dulsimer in the scamp I parted out. It is pretty cool and it is in my house as art kind of. Apparently made by a famous maker of these. HA!

Bought a old 72 truck one time, with a bad starter.
Put it on the trailer and towed it about 50 miles home.
While changing the starter a small 18" rattle snake crawled from the back of the block and thru the busted shifter boot to inside the cab.
This was within 6" of my hand.
I was scared because my 2 yr old was playing in the cab.
I ripped every piece of interior out of that truck and never found the snake.

Oh? Than this must be yours! :snakeman:

MAN!!! I live around 29 Palms and work in the Palm Springs area! I never heard of the Dart, DANG IT!!!!

It came up on craigslist for sale. Wasn't no steal, but I was their pretty quick for first look. After a little work on the fuel and brake systems I just drove the Dart around the block a couple times yesterday. The power steering is making some nasty noise that I'm not sure if its going to go away. May have to replace the pump here pretty quick.

It wasn't my car but a friend of mine bought a 70 Cuda in the mid 1980s just after high school. The car was in an impound yard on a bad side of town, the car was repro'd from the previous owner. I think he paid a princely sum of $900 for the car.

It wasn't running and needed a new starter, I helped him get it running and we got it home to his parents house. There was no trunk key so we jimmyed the lock open and inside was a stack of porno magazines, several Qs of Malt Liquor and a pair of brass knuckles.

Under the back seat of my 66 valiant convertible, written in the body caulking the letters F U C K, i guess it was probably a Monday car. Under the seat of a 66 Hemi Charger a I like Ike button and under the seat of a 66 formula S an Et slip for 18 seconds for the quarter mile

In 1972, in my 1970 Mach1, I found an unused prophylactic and a scrap of paper, w/ a females name and phone number written on it.

Recently, in my 1983 Cordoba, an antique Golf club, out of sight in the trunk. And a small "Woolworths" bag, containing a Lipstick and receipt for same. Doba had belonged to an elderly couple.

So far I think the coolest thing was the notebook we found in my '74 Barracuda. The original owner kept a log of what he bought, how much it cost, and the mileage at which he bought/used it. For the first entry it states:

Date Item Price Mileage

1-24-74 car $3250 12 mi
1-24-74 sales tax $227.50 12 mi
1-24-74 Ziebart $100.58 12 mi
1-24-74 snow scraper $.39 12 mi

This notebook was carried on in the same manner until the last entry of 12-21-86 when he put in 13.3 gals of gas for $10.50 at 57,438 miles.

I just went and looked at a 68 Cuda from Cali, when I asked about a broadcast sheet the owner didn,t know.So we pulled the backseat out and there was the sheet bunched up in a ball. It,s in very good shape, lucky find.Oh and I,m buying the car.
