When I turned 14, Granny gave me her badly rusted 70 Torino after she lost the spare and the jack out the side of the car on I-95,..Me and the boys spent all summer beatin the holy dogsnots out of that car in a 4 acre field,...and that 250/6 never died...

71 Duster 318 3 spd (floor shift). No power steering, power brakes, AC or air bags!!

1976 Chevy Monte Carlo Landau my dad bought new. One of the best vehicles he's ever owned.
My first car was a 69 Corvette, 350HP with a 4 speed the next summer.

George

My first serious driving lesson was in my dads 76 Duster (automatic) in 82 or so then in my dads 76 Camaro (standard)

The 76 Duster was sold then totaled by the kid who bought it and the Camaro was lent to his buddy and wrecked... My mom tboned the 72 duster with a tree and almost lost her and my sisters life a few years before.

i didn't learn to drive in it was a drive on its was a 1937 John Deere tractor hand throttle and hand clutch

My Dads 77 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham. It was silver with a burgundy roof, 440 AT loaded to the gills. Used to take it when I was 14 for tours around the neighborhood.

Never did tell him that story...

1970 dart swinger, 340 4spd. I could hardly press in the clutch and ended up doing circles in the parking lot in first gear.

My parents had a 69 340 Dart Swinger. Taught me to drive in that. It was an auto. I bought a 56 ford pickup with my berry picking money at 15, It had a Chevy 327 4 speed. Learned to drive a 4 speed in that. WHAT A BEAST, I remember thinking I would never learn how to drive a clutch.

We had Driver's ED at school. They had a full sized Plymouth & a full sized Dodge. I think it was a Fury & a Monaco, can't remember for sure. Would've been '71 or '72 models.

78 VW Rabbit diesel that had a very sensative clutch. Once I fixed the freeze plugs I drove my 73 Dart Swinger 318, auto. Took my drivers test in that car. 3 hours later I almost lost my license doing a big smokey burnout in it.

7 years old when my Father taught me how to drive his 72 Datsun pickup with a stick shift. Dad owned a gutter business and would get tired of driving, first time I drove on the street I was 8 or 9.

HeeHee,...Did the same with my Dads 69 barracuda FB, (later to be my first car),...buried it in the front yard one day during "mud season",...and I still haven't told him either...

It was so long ago that I do not remember.I do remember hiding the keys in a 30's Plymouth
that was used as a loaner - parts chaser car by a local garage I worked at and would take it out
after hours and cruise around town I was probably 14 or 15 at the time. The things you could get
away with then. This was probably in the mid 60's.My first car was a 67 Nova 283 4 speed bought in
69 for $1150 cash money I didn't have my drivers license yet but drove it anyway

69 Sport Suburban Wagon: 383- way too powerful for a new driver; seemed like I needed 2 feet to stop it.
