62 valiant /6 turbo build

-
I got a funny story to tell. First In case u guys didn't no I've named the car TURBO TOAD. I moved the valiant out of the garage so I could get ready to install the motor today also so I could clean the mess of a garage up alittle I've been so busy the last couple weeks. So when I was swapping the garage floor up u will never guess what I found hanging out with the TURBO TOAD! But a real live toad I don't no just how long he's been in my garage but It sure seemed like a omen to me.
Kind of funny I thought but I thought id share that with u guys

Looks like you need to keep a closer eye on your turbo toad...does she even know who the dad is?

Ryan that's great I thought it was pretty funny story that I needed to share.
I'm getting very close to firing the motor up I have a bunch of little things to get done beforehand though but I'm getting excited I hope all the long hours of hard work will pay off once I get her going ill give a detailed setup run down of the TOAD. Thanks again I couldn't have gotten this far without you and Tom and Bill's,FABO,.ORG help
Thanks again

Hopefully, we'll be right behind you....:walk:

I haven't post in a minute good things are getting ready to happen I finished the down pipe and installed a wideband O2 sen. Electrical is just about done.
I still have to finish the fuel deliver setup but I have all the parts and pieces to get it done. Apparently I messed up my turbo oil feed and return lines so I have to do some minor repairs to that.

But I'm off tomorrow so if I can get the small things do done on my day off there is a good chance tomorrow just may be the day the TOAD SEES LIFE

Take your time and do it right... I know you will!!!

Waiting here with 'bated breath.... :)

Kid I can't post pics from my phone click the Photobucket link there's tons of good progress pics with titles so hopefully if somebody wants to do a similar build they can see how I did it

Bill I will take my time that's part of the reason why I haven't tried to start it yet believe me I'm so excited I've gotten this far in a short period the car won't be track ready till I get my drive shaft shortened to the correct size"Damn i can't do it myself"

I'll post some video and more pics also a detailed run down on my setup I've changed some things since I first started

Aaron

Nice setup Aaron, We're just about as excited as you are. I'm still on hold for putting my turbo back in, but I've started on the fuel system. Are you going to have a fuel pressure gauge on the regulator? I bought a 0-30 psi gauge from amazon ( fragola fuel pressure gauge 0-30 psi ) for $16
I put the regulator in the same place as yours. I'm curious to see what the wiring for the pump looks like. I'd thought about running the main hot right from the back of the alt, and the relay switched power right off the power for the hei ignition on the passenger fender...
What carb hat is that?

Sounds good! So is the plan to break in the motor and then plumb in the turbo?

Yah that's the plan I had some issues with the head gasket but I believe I have taken care of the issue I plan on trying to break in the cam tomorrow I do have a small leak in the radiator that's going to have to be addressed as well but so far so good I haven't touched the timing yet

Hang in there, Aaron; you're making great progress. Everything looks A-1.

I have the feeling that you'll need a pilot's license really soon... LOL!:angel7:

That thing looks awesome! Is the plan to run the intake through the firewall or something like that? I can't wait to see it all come together.

No I don't plan on running a intercooler just meth injection all the research I've done via the net pretty much says no intercooler is needed with meth injection up to around 600 HP so I'm going to see if that holds true

I'm just about ready to hook the cold side up all my pressure and leak tests are done and all the minor leaks are taking care of as soon as I receive a couple odd ball t clamps the TOAD will became a forced inducted freak of nature

Then the fun will began I get to try and tune it!!!!!!!!

What meth kit are you going to use? AIS has some really good information on their site.

Mad dart I'm using a labonte two stage with one of the new #7 coolingmist nozzle
I'm almost done with the install I'm waiting on a 1/8 bung for the nozzle holder and I need to have me v band for my BOV tig welded into my cold side pipe then I can start testing the system and doing some tuning

Aaron

Here's a couple pics of the cold side piping mock up I still have to get a 50mm v band flange installed for my BOV and a 1/8 bung welded in for the meth injection
