Your favorite Mopar that you have owned?

-
for me my 73 challenger rallye 340 had many more rare, but this one was my daily driver for many years.
I recently found the car again and the guy who now owns it now. He purchased it all tore up and restored it as a father son project. So, it was kind of neat to speak to them and let them know how the car was when it was new.

so here it is then 1979 and now

He did a nice job

He also has a 63 maxi. So it definitely went to a great Mopar family who saved it and I am happy with that. They didn't realize how rare the canopy top was so they ground off the nibs and deleted it. I have never seen another Chally with one.

My superbird is my favoriet by far, and then my old AAR cuda would be second....then probably my current 71' 340 duster. I'v owned a bunch of mopars over the years, and really I loved most of them....but my least favoriet was my 67 barracuda notchback...pale yellow.... handled lousy, I hated that car. It was ugly, ( I hate notchbacks) and I did not keep it very long....about 9 months.

My 1st car was a '72 Duster! loved the B5 interior and the all the stripes were painted on except for the tailpanel decal. Couldn't find a Sharktooth grille to complete the look, 340 Duster! Still a cool cruiser!

Mine was a 1969 Swinger 340 4 speed. It looked just like the one in the ad. When the guy I bought it from handed me the paper work he mentioned that the car came from Mr. Norms Grand Spalding Dodge in Chicago. Someone had just left from test driving it when I got there and he told me the guy wouldn't come up $50.00 on the price so he left to think about it. I told him I had no problem paying that price so he looked at his Wife what she thought and she told him to sell it to me since she didn't like the other guy anyway.
This was in 1975 mind you and the car was like new with 30,000 miles. He had it advertised for $1100.00 and I bought it for $950.00. Loved that car.

My First Love, My '68 Coronet 440, with a 383 , 4 spd, The mill I rebuilt, would twist it up (7300 RPM) Sniff, Crying.
I have had that car, a 63 Dart gt /6 (was going to put my '58 392 Hemi,12 to.1 .060 over motor, in it, before my garage was robbed), a 71 Demon, 3 Dusters, a 66 Sat (still own), a 67 Sat 318(popped the motor, damn, it revved so hard , it went into free wind, put a rod in the oil pan) a 70 Challenger (want to kill the MFR for letting myself get scum bagged out of that) and a 74 Challenger, a 74 D200 4 door (built 318)) Bad *** truck it was ugly ,so I Camouflaged it), a big block (400) 77 Club Cab, my V6 93 club cab Dakota, a 72 sat (383 solid cam, roller rockers)Impounded, while visiting my Dads grave (in 1990), a '68 Valiant (318) tire smoker), and a few others:sad4: I Think I am going to be sick!
Please Kill Me Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved them all!
Thinking about putting my 340 ( w/a six pak) in my '01 Dak!, And my 440 in my Duster! Anyone wanna buy a 1977 XLCR?

Do you have a picture Robert? I don't seem to remember that one

Pics are on my desktop. I'm on my laptop at the moment. If I remember 'em I'll put up a few, as she sits now, having sat for 20+ years. Not a beaut, that's for sure, but pretty much untouched from the day I got her.

Four door, Q5, factory "H" code, 727, 3.55 Sure Grip, p/s cooler, trans cooler, etc. Even came with Magnum 500's originally. Took a walk through Govier's books and he left out the sedans. According to his books there were thirty of so Sport Satellite 383/4bbl factory 2 doors, 30 or so convertibles, 30 or so wagons, so extrapolating from that I figure about the same totals on sedans. Rare? Yup. Sought after? Nope. But an interesting piece of Chrysler history which can still be restored.

And it was a blast to drive throughout my teen years!

I met my Wife in Oakland CA in 2000' and while we were dating my daily driver was a 72' BB Charger. When she got her commission to the Navy we got married and since we would be moving all over the country I had to let "Big Blue" go. The car was a Frankenstein but I loved it none the less and was heartbroken. The Wife promised that one day she would buy me another MOPAR.

8 years, and 6 duty stations later she made good on that promise.......

Mine was the instant I bought it, spring of 71?, and still would be if I could afford one, my old 70 44-6 Road Runner. I have no good photos, due to age, and a house fire. At the time I bought it, I had a 69 383 4 speed RR, with headers, Edelbrock, Holley 780. The 440-6 made that 383 seem like it was parked. Friend of mine who owned a 70 Chiv 3/4 4x4 at the time (new) drove it once and started out accidently in 3rd gear. He didn't know the difference!!

440sixpack, Dana 3.54, 4 speed, "hang on A/C", great (U.S. Indy) wheels, and most of the time had an 800 Holley DP. Air Grabber/ black hood, originally had the "Duster trails" er whatever they were called. I put over 140K on the car, but not that engine, later in life a 340!!

If the "discretionary funding" were in place, that one would be high on my list. Those bodies are "bee u tee full".

I had two my 69 dodge dart custom and my 06 dodge ram 2500 with the Cummins in it

It would have to be my 1967 Plymouth Barracuda "S" Convertible. I bought it in 1987 from the original owner. Last winter it went in for an engine rebuild after 232,000 miles. Whether cruising down the highway with the top down, running around town or in an occasional parade I get lots of "thumbs up"! I love it!
