As the Holiday season approaches, make a point to tell your friends and family that you will not accept any gifts from Sears, will not shop at Sears, and are boycotting Sears.
There are plenty of good alternatives. Actually, pretty much anywhere is a better alternative.

you need to explain yourself before saying boycott a company that usually has good tools and merchandise

I broke two Craftsman sockets today. I am not happy with the fact that the Craftsman tools that are being made in China and they told me they all will be in the future.

Well lets put it this way 10 days before Christmas and these jerks put me out of work without any other reason then a one paragraph e mail stating "Business Decision" and now I am owed for 16 completed jobs and they are holding up my payments for 30 days, meanwhile I have house bills to pay and with just buying Christmas for my daughter and 2 grandchildren I have custody of. Now money is extremely sparse. Couldn't even get the wife a Christmas gift. But we did take ALL of the gifts we purchased from Sears back and got our cash back. Busted my *** for them working 15-18 hr days 6 days a week to get this as a thank you. Screw Sears!! I hope they close.

sorry to hear this man , i feel your pain trust me ...

I understand Tom. I haven't bought anything from there since i lived in Florida 7 yrs. ago. Not for your reason, but i didn't like when they went to commission sales and the squirrel salesman wouldn't leave me alone to shop....lol. But yes, i'm on board.:thumblef:

I pretty much cut out Sears a LONG time ago.

Way back when I was "in" HVAC service, I had some issues with their parts dept

Stuff like Lawn tractors are dumped out of the system WAY too quick. A good quality mower/ Garden tractor back in the 60's 70's used to be expected to last 15--20 years.

Some time ago I called on the phone and no one answered so the phone system DUMPED MY CALL OFF LINE. Our not--too--big store has the tools, garden, appliances stuff all pretty much in the same area so I called all of those departments and NOT ONE PERSON answered the phone.

If you think the current crop of Craftsman tools are "good quality" you need to compare them to what was made in the 70's. The wrenches are now big clubby things because they have to be THICKER to be strong. Junk.

Their battery powered (drills, etc) are FAR FAR inferior to something like Makita.

For me it's an easy decision not to go there.

When February rolls around If I do not get work I will be out in the street with 3 young kids. I've been pounding the pavement looking for work. Hopefully I can get this new contract but I am bitter and have EVERY right to be. Dedication and hard work mean nothing to this company. Meanwhile their CEO builds a $40 Million dollar home on a private island all the while closing stores and putting people out of work...

Was Sears the first to bring out the high interest credit cards many many years ago?
Taking advantage of people that are financially ignorant (26 to 29%).

Them among some others Darryl. Every time you checked out they dangle that 10% off this purchase if you sign up now......lmao.

I'm in,...Last vacuum cleaner I bought there was the biggest POS I've ever spent money on,....Read way too many bad reviews about their products as of late...

Went for a job interview there,..Just for some afterwork part timer tirechanger stuff,...I figured, what the hell, I'm already dirty and in a grease monkey uniform and 5 min from my primary job,....What they offered in pay was a slap inna face,....

I figure they're not gonna last much longer up in these parts,...

Sorry to hear about yer troubles there Dustermaniac,...Typical corporate,...They don't give a rat's patoot about us little guys,..Bbut I bet they're havin a nice Xmas...

And the sad part is the typical American lets it happen by continuing to buy crap from organizations like this.....As long as they save $1.19....

These are the same folks who say the country is goin to hell inna handbasket as they're walkin into the store and they don't understand why.....Friggin sheeple....

Well I am sorry but THEY have done a good job of ruining mine already and with 3 children (2 under 10 years old) and a wife who is disabled and not getting disability yet. It is not my concern anymore what happens to Sears. My business is going to quickly fall apart unless I find work. I have just got a newer truck and have payments to make on it and if I cannot work and make these payments then my business will be forced to shut. It is very hard to hook up with any small appliance stores here due to the fact that many of them are gone and the few left are using guys they have had for 20 yrs or longer. Not to mention I will be in the streets in February if I cannot pay my rent. I have not been sleeping since this has happened and the fear of being homeless with young children is a very real concern. I am even looking for work outside my field but not having much luck.

I'm with you guys. Haven't been in a Sears store since they quit giving out catalogs. Had the red *** at them ever since.

I can't afford to shop at sears so they won't lose much by me not going there

I have always been a Sears shopper because I can get better prices there on applicances when they are on sale. With their made in China Craftsman tools I won't be shopping there near as much. Our other choices are stores like Lowes and Home Depot who have little to no customer support for their appliances or lawn equipment or WalMart that is a low pay wages and a China lover too. Like it or not our economy isn't likely to do anything different until tariffs are placed on import stuff so jobs will be brought back to the USA.

Not to open a big can of worms, and hope to not hurt any employees, but don't forget the corporate sister co. that starts with a K.
