Have you ever put something away and forgot where you put it?

-
Three years ago, when i moved into the duplex that i'm now living, i somewhere put away a 1oz. American Eagle gold coin.
Never figured out where it went, how it got lost in the move.
Now that coin is worth $1.700.00.
OUCH :(

I bought a new tool from Horror Freight and after thinking about the best place to store it so I could find it the next time I needed it, I found that I already previously bought the exact same tool and placed it in the same spot I just picked! At least I was consistent!:violent1::banghead::sign3:

If I have my camera with me I rarely leave it in the car. Went into one of the "thrift stores" and took it off to look at something on a low shelf and left 3 grand worth of Canon 7D lying on the shelf.

Got in the car, engine running in reverse before I realized "whut."

That could have been a diaster.

I will most likely do the same thing when I replace my lost scanner keys.

This story is the absolute truth, I swear

Some time ago I was standing in my living room talking to a friend, looked down at the little table, and there is my cell phone holster, but no cell phone.

So I'm "dam......phas####sss$*#&^@ etc" and my buddy says "whats th' matter?"

"I see my cell holster, but no phone!!"

"How many do ya need, yur talkin' ta me on ONE of em!!!"

One day I had my glasses on, WEARING them while lookin fer 'em.

Looked for a screwdriver for over 10 minutes while carryin' it around in my hand!!!

'Other day I spent 5 minutes lookin' fer them T bars and they were hangin' right in the rear sockets!!!

Roflmao! I've done every stinking one of these

Roflmao! Did that with my damn brake spoon

Of course I've done these things! My garage is sort of an organized mess and only I know the order of things. You guys ever get a "sixth sense" of where something might be? Almost like you're "drawn" to a certain area of your garage where you think you last put something?.......and done the "slow walk", like some kind of psychic medium getting signals from beyond, to find the part you're looking for? LOL

Rechromed the hood trim for my bulged hood, the top fin pieces where not good and sent them back, have not found the base pieces since and bought another set.

Couldn't find my inferred thermometer so bought another, found the other one shortly after.

Lost a Bulger pinstripe tool thought I left it when I got divorce years ago. Found one at flea market and bought it. Found my original one now I have 2

Bought a 68 dart convertible for the trim to hold the boot to the rear seat, but used many parts that I couldn't find the ones I took off.

Those are so cool, I have one of those and when I first started reading I thought your ex may have sold it on eBay.

Put the coil covers to my bike, that are unique to the coil mount, SOMEWHERE......$147 to replace them because the only way to get them is with the upper motor/coil mount assembly.
Lived in AZ, DD was a bike. Had a routine of things before going to work. One day I broke the routine. Was standing out in the driveway, helmet/jacket/gloves on........but no bike. Neighbor was on his way to the mailbox and walked up my driveway asking what was going on. Asked him if he stole my bike. He walked up to the closed garage door, took a listen and burst out laughing. I fired the bike up in the garage, like I always did, but forgot to wheel it out prior to closing the door.

Roflmao! I would've loved to see the look on your face!

Lol, now that is funny. I bet he had told that story quite a few times over the years.

I haven't used my Snap On scanner for a while and I forgot where I put the personality keys that go with it. I should have put them back in the case but that day I was in a hurry and didn't. They are here somewhere but where the hell somewhere is I have no idea.

What have you lost that you put away for safe keeping?

With out readybf any replies YES! T.Q. wrench 3/8ths drive Ft. LB. wrench :banghead:

I cant find my keys all the time ive had so many keys made to my cars over the years it aint funny I dont know where thay go off too but thay never come back
This is how I ended up with a wicker basket full of keys.......somehow the day after making new ones the "lost" ones always reappear.....Including the one to a friends car, before he got rid of the car I used to move it in the parking lot at work. I had a key to his bike as well, needless to say the fun I had hiding his bike on him. He finally caught on to me and started putting a pad lock thru a rotor. Was all good until I had a friend hold the emergency exit (was not wired) to the locker room open. Another buddy grabbed one the other side of the forks/bars and we dragged it into the locker room. Management failed to see the humor in it and put a boot on it so he could not just push it back outside. Next day we had a plant wide meeting......seems that they did not feel the locker room was suitable for parking....

Yes that's how my memory works too. I know where most of my things are, but if I don't put something back right away or if my wife moves something, it may be lost forever!

I have a photographic memory, but unfortunately, I ran out of film many years ago!:wack:

I've put so many things up, and forgot where, that most of them I have forgotten I have . I find stuff every now and then, and it's like getting a new prize.

Kind of like finding a twenty dollar bill in a jacket pocket that you just pulled out of storage.....

Best way to find something you lost..........stopping looking for it, then you will find it. Always works for me...LOL...Seriously!
