73' B3 340 Duster pro touring build

-
Forgive my ignorance but are those bumper brackets stock? I've tossed the super heavy 76 shock bumper mounts and I was going to make new brackets but if these are available stock parts ill buy some and clean them up.

Do they have front and rear brackets?

Thanks,

Riddler

They are stock off off a 70'-72' front bumper since I switched over to 71' stuff, I just made the stock slot longer to move the bumper in.

I had some free time today so I welded up the front bumper insert...fit like a glove and looks like it belongs there, at least to the Brand X guys...I have another modification in store for the front bumper that will really make it unique....more on that later. you can see the adjustment tabs in the last picture, although it's got minor adjustments it has some .....and lets be honest, there mainly there for looks anyway but they will be functional and will not blind people at night.

Too much????

Here is why I won't be adding Chebbie Titties to my bumper...like I need justification. I am going to make a recessed panel that will hold a billet Tow hook that will hang in the down position but hinge "up" if ever needed. Once the recessed panel is made and welded into place the Tow hook will not stick out past the bumper and rest on a rubber cusion. The recess will follow the contour of the Tow hook and have a 1/4" gap around it...If your cant follow my vision all will become clear as mud once I get it made and take pics. The Iphone is for size comparison. It should look very clean and suttle once complete.

since your closer to him than me, how about giving Brother Denny a
classic back of the head slap for that one.
Got you covered.....

No Carlisle for you and Dave? I've got one prime room left - Fri & Sat nite.

If you register the Dart online by Sunday night you will get your passes
mailed to you and at a discount (weekend quick passes for 1 car and 2
people for only $49.50).

FABO is on the club list now.

We're planning on it. I've got the whole week off prior.

The new tow rig passed with flying colors on the trip to Chicago 2 weeks
ago.

Denny and Mark - I've just confirmed your Carlisle entries and the passes
will be mailed to you.

Mark - You need to seriously update your site's "Hot Rod" page including
adding Ross's, Dave's, Hausch's, Weeb's Challenger and Denny's car
finished.

If the big rubber titties are a no-go...what about a couple of 50 cal barrel ends sticking out a few inches? ...kinda James Bondo style....
You could always wrap a toe strap around those babies and delete the hidden hook.

I know a guy that works around big military aircraft and he could probably "borrow" a couple....just sneak em out in his lunch pail.

Once again...outside the box
It's what I do.

Thanks John,
But this year for Carlisle doesn't really work for my schedule. I appreciate the offer I'm sure it will be a fun time ...The Government Furlough take effect on us around that time, so with a 20% pay cut coming till the end of the fiscal year I have to make cuts somewhere.

Heres the tow hook sitting on the bumper so you get an idea of how it will look but it will be inset 1" so it will be flush with the face of the bumper. Also made a little more progress on the Dart.....shouldn't be long now

Looks good fellers...you guys make a good team

Just bust'n balls on your bumper....you know me, I'm a purist.... and it was a slow news day.

Okay I finished the Frenched in tow hook insert, I'm very happy with the way it turned out but it's been getting mixed reviews with the local's here in Akron....of course some are Brand X guys. So I will probally regret this but I am looking for some Honest opinions on adding the Tow hook before I cut out the bumper and flush weld it in, also should it be closer to the lights or kicked out toward the passenger side more. Again looking for Honest opinions here....I know some of the frequent visitors have no problem giving there true thoughts. Thanks....I think

And NO I don't plan on breaking down alot...thats not the purpose of adding it, It's to show creativity and add to the customization of the overall build.

for me....only on a pickem-up.

I vote no.....end of mission!

It's cool. It's unique - points for that. The inset is very nice. But too much clutter for my taste.
You know you'll have to answer "what's that" a thousand times :)

Kind of what I was thinking after I made it and looked at it, but damn it turned out so nice..in my humble opinion. I can always count on Denny for a honest opinion. Thank you....who's next ?

Remember, my standard answer will be: "I dont know, I just bought it that way". A Quick and easy way out. It's kind of like breaking up with someone via a Text message.
