Ok ok...not a Mopar thread but I have been falling in love with vintage big rig trucks.....the first one I can remember really liking and thinking looked really cool was an old early 50's Mack truck, first time I seen this style was in the old "Maximum Overdrive" movie where there is a scene where this old Mack tries to run a car off the road.....still like that style, probably cause it resembles an old car....anybody else like them or have memories to share?

Very nice thread. Now you are being productive. :poke:
I have had the same thoughts about vintage big rigs.
I have to admit to stopping in my tracks to stare and take it all in the few times I have seen an old big rig around....there is something about them that draws you to look with the unusualness and massive presence.

Nice thread idea =P~ I like the old ford big rigs too but I will keep it dodge here :evil3:

Some may not know but I used to drive truck, not semi but a straight truck...it was an International air brake truck....logged over 1.5 million accident-free miles.....funny, I have all those miles but still don't think I was ever a "trucker" cause I never had a trailer...I miss those open road days and scenery but nice to be at home....I will always have my memories :glasses7:

that will surprise people because you don't look like a truck driver with your cute baby face and soft clean hands.:poke: But I am really happy to hear it was accident free......some of that stuff gets real dangerous in a hurry with the size and weight.

wow 1.5 million miles ....good job :headbang:

The old Mack trucks were some of the best style trucks on the road

Go back a few more years and the Diamond T and REO trucks were cool

International has one now that I think in 30 years people will think is cool

Different from the others on the road

I wanted to restore our 67 F600 dump truck but finally let it go last fall. Had just over 50,000 miles and we had since 1980

I love old trucks

you know me ......just had to

My 331 came out of a truck similar to this. There was one of these fully restored on Ebay a while back. It had the 354 Power Giant Hemi. I kept going back and droolin all over the auction.

That is awesome :glasses7:

Ah, the Mack b61 thermodyne diesel. How bout a GMC crackerbox with a 6v53 Detroit two stroke. I remember hearing them scream as a kid in the late 60s. Thanks for the memories.

Spent many hours behind stake bed Macks and Dodge hauling beans and rice from the field to the grain bens to be dumped and stored, Now I just need to get on my computer and share some pictures.
Nope !! Never seen you as a truck driver Keith, but I am sure you haul a bunch of wood all around your area :D
as soon as qualifying is dun I will go in the house and find some old picture's of
me and the trucks harvesting grain :coffee2:

Good idea for a thread and waiting for bigdummy to jump in here :glasses7:

I agree the old trucks are cool!!! wonder what we could spin $$$ restoring one!!???? LOL and does that girl come with that truck. ??back bout "85. I bought a checy C60, ( 427, 5 speed)shortened the frame, added a sleeper box, got new take out van buckets, made a custom ( hauler bed) flat bed with sides, headache rack etc. that pulled my $4000 6 horse goose. 427 same power as 454, better gear range with 5 speed, had 2 speed axle. etc BIG truck brakes......
bout that time a co started customizing 1 ton chevys.they made a fortune! LOL now guys buy customized single axle petes and pull $150,000 living qtr 6 horse gooses> LOL
ya know there are 2 ton farm trucks that are 40-60 years old that look pretty good. only used at harvest time. most all are chevys.
