foose is hacking up another mopar !

-
I watched the 1st 15min of the show, turned the channel soon as tear down started. Couldn't stand to watch what was going to happen ...

Who's destroyed more Mopars? Foose or Hollywood? You know? Dukes of Hazzard, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, F&F, Vanishing Point(I know), Duel, and Countless Cop Cars throughout the years. Just to name a few. I think Foose has them all beat.

I don't know, I gotta have my cars close to the way they were back in the day. I think personally that makes them what they were meant to be. When you start taking an older car and changing them too much it ruins them in my opinion. I am old school.

I recorded the show so I can't pass judgment yet, but from the picture above and past builds, I'll say that I don't like the big wheels. The shaved marker lights and handles are okay by me, I understand he left the owners 440 alone, just painted it up a bit. I agree the color is kinda played (especially if it isn't even a correct color). Triple black car with some different wheels could have looked bad ***. I've already told my wife and kids, I don't care if I'm on my death bed and can't finish my car, don't call Foose.

They had started with a triple black car which is fairly rare and a lot of people consider it one of the coolest color combos. They expressed that they wanted it kept black. The car was very clean and didn't need much work. It wasn't some beat rust bucket. Overall the car (except for the wheels in my opinion) looks good. I liked it better before the mods. I assume they put on really big brakes that won't clear a 15" wheel anymore so they would probably have to do a lot of work if they want to downsize the wheels.

Whether or not you like the way the car looks you have to admit that it's a pretty bold move to start shaving door handles and filling side marker lights on a car that nice. It's one thing if an owner requests those kinds of modifications, but not everyone wants them.

Foose seems like a great guy. But he seems to be stuck on the same styling modifications on the cars he does. Everything is 'modernized'. And a lot of the cars lose the personalities they had as they're transformed into his vision of how he wants them to be. I think he's in a rut.

And someday the fad will be gone. Just like every other fad. It'll be like having those eighties gold anodized rims. Only you're stuck with them for life.

At least he didn't f up the interior. My self if I was to get my car customized I'd send it to Kindig he does what the cust wants, did anyone see the suspension work he did on that 73 hemi Cuda? but then again my car isn't anything rare.It started out as a green 6cyl car.

The photo in the post above, shows me a car I would like. I don't really care for the wheels but the rest looks good. I guess I am a little biased though, because I filled in my side marker lights and ruined the looks of my Demon. Sheesh

I chuckle at the people that are against custom builds like this. Im betting that if Foose choose to take anyone of your cars. That you would be excited to say that he was building your car. Now if you all kept it or sold it, in the end that is here nor there. But I gaurentee you that you guys that are nay sayers and dislike the car would be bragging until the day you died. That if it was your car, you had a car built by Foose himself.

I don't hate what Foose is doing but if he ever got his hands on my car I'd lay some ground rules. 1. The wheel size can be a max size of 17" and can't look "pimpin". 2. gen II 426 under the hood with a 4 speed & Gear Vendors OD. 3. The only radio I need is a Hemi. 4. No two tone paint jobs. 5. No shaving the door handles or side markers. 6. Keep it old school. If he did this stuff for me I'd let him build my car.

Nonsense..other than the wheels that's a great looking build. Cookie Cutter stock is so boring

Anyone else see the irony there?
Just fun'n with you BiT,

So most of you guys are saying if you where given that car you would not drive it? Yeah right! You guys need a new hobby or something if this stuff upsets you that much...really

Did most of you guys know people hated Superbirds?

The Superbird's styling proved to be a little extreme for 1970 tastes (many customers preferred the regular Road Runner), and as a consequence, many of the 1,920 examples built sat unsold on the back lots of dealerships as late as 1972. Some were converted into 1970 Road Runners to move them off the sales lot.

When one of you guys meet him at one of the big elbow rubbing car shows....please take one for team Mopar and have the balls to tell him that his taste in wheels is beyond ghetto.

customized cars ...... fine for the guy that created it, till he goes to sell it, just to find NOONE else connects with his vision!!?????

You just dont F*ck with a Mopar. They were meant to be left stock or 70's

Nothing '70's about this car except sheetmetal and it's one of most badass ever built.

Well, I read all of the posts and oppinions and I'll sum up.

Foose designs suck for the most part in my own oppinion.
I hate the wheels he uses.
I hate the two tone crap.
Shaving (depends)
Engine would have to be daily drivable.
The color is boring.
I would only tell him all this if it was live. (otherwise it would be a waste of time)

Oh, and Don is an internet tough guy. (Never knew that):D

Would I drive it if it were given to me, sure. (with a for sale sign about the wheels)

The "insider" should not have called Foose if he thought he was going to have it HIS own way. It's a customized car by Foose, done in one week. Considering, I like it for what it is. I DO think it'd be better with Foose's 18" "Challenger" wheels which are a modernized, billet Mopar Rally wheel.

it's kinda cool and different. NOT what the owners wanted and yes the wheels suck. the owner said the motor was redone and lacked what they wanted so Overhaulin' left it alone and just painted it ?
if they were going that far it should have had a crate HEMI stuffed in it !
... not my car, not my show, MR Foose does amazing work

Actually I did tell Foose not to put big ugly wheels on Mopars. I met him at Unique Performance right after the Challenger car was aired. Told him he did a 'good' job except for the wheels being too big. And those wheels looked good compared to these. Guess he didn't listen.
I liked the A100 he did recently. Though he tried to stuff too many racing seats in the Van.
