Turns out I'd let my subscription lapse when I moved a few months ago. Apparently I was the only subscriber left and when I called to renew, he informed me that the magazine has shut down. This really sucks. That's been my favorite magazine for twenty plus years now.

Anyone else miss it, or is it just me?

Guys 'n' gals:

The reports of our death are a bit premature. Here's the straight scoop:

The magazine (print) has continued to sell well, and ad revenue has also been strong. The problem has been newsstand "space"...it is obvious that fewer and fewer outlets sell magazines, and those that do devote less floor and shelf space. The internet has been a "disruptive technology" for all print media. The publisher's current distributor decided he had to carry fewer titles. We made the first few cuts over prior years but this looks tough.

The August issue has been printed and will be distributed as usual. Harris (the publisher) is scrambling to find new distribution (newsstand), if that happens, there won't even be a hiccup. If not, we may upgrade the online version (a lot!) and send a print issue to subscribers.

Either way, thanks for your support!

It stopped impressing me a long time ago anyway. That Bolig guy ruined it for a lot of people. They got rid of him way too late.

That's good because I renewed my subscription a month or so ago.

Me too! I just received the August issue in the mail Saturday and recently renewing my subscription.
But I've been burned before by magazines going out of print.

I didnt even know Rick E. was even on this board. Good to know.

Randy Bolig was in MA? I remember him from Mopar Muscle, but don't remember him in MA.

That's OK Rusty,, Mopar Muscle sucks anymore with or without whoever is at the helm..Sorry to hear about Mopar Action. Liked that Mag..Don't have a lap top to take to the can.....Rather have paper in my hands.......Know what I mean ??

Yeah I always liked Mopar Action too. Sorry I got them cornfrooshed.

They had the best tech articles.
The great disc brake swap and a need 4-speed stand out in my mind as some of the
most useful dig in and get your hands dirty leaving no stone unturned put to print.

If Mopar Action is having trouble finding room on newsstands, you can fully expect MCG and MM to be in trouble too.

Support the magazines that support our hobby...subscribe!!

I am not sure if it is an option but I think the magazine industry like the newspaper industry as a whole is going the way of Plymouth and Pontiac. I just subscribed to Hemmings Muscle for $10 a year online. So now I get a years worth of digital edition and don't have to store them. Perhaps this can be an option for other magazines such as the Mopar ones.

I did mopar action 1 year online, I found I much prefer a physical copy, so I went back to a normal subscription

Welcome to my life long career which is in the Printing Industry..... Still lots of it shaking and moving but digital is eating into it and there is just no getting around it.... Sadly I have not bought any Mag for a decade....

I liked Mopar Action better than Muscle. Action's tech articles taught you how. Muscle was just a highlight of the procedure. I got rid of Collectors guide a couple years ago. Too many over the top restored cars with unbelievable stories.

But Cartoons is back!

My cousins 70 Road Runner is in the current issue. I still need to pick it up to check out the article.

Well, I prefer Mopar Muscle. I have been a subscriber almost from day one. I disagree about Randy Bolig. I thought he did a great job. I read his Editor's page every month and laughed outloud. I liked him a lot better than the current guy. His Editor's page is dry, boring and sometimes rather insulting. Also, I think the magazine is going WAY to fay with modern Mopars.

I haven't subscribed to any Mopar magazines lately. I've just been buying any and all I see on the newsstand with the intent of subscribing, but never do. I know it costs me extra, but it also moves one off of the shelf, which can only help, right?

I really need to subscribe to all of them.
