Really. I don't own a ford product. Well nothing after 1965 at least except for the Elenor clone and I have a buyer for that waiting.. And I never give out email address.

This is funny ...so tell me how did it work out?
 
Have any of you ever timed your engine with a vacuum gauge?? From what I have read is that you adjust your dizzy until you get the max vacuum reading, then back it off 1-2hg. Accurate or not?

It works ok with a stock engine with mild mods (intake, headers, carb) but I couldn't get it to work properly on my engine (I tried several times) and went back to the Hot Rod basics of test-n-tune. Once you add a cam and compression change to the mix, the equation for timing gets more complicated to get an optimal timing curve.

I tried it once as well. If I remember right I had somewhere around 26-28* of initial timing. I was just thinking back and wondering if it was something I did wrong, so just thought I would ask. The other reason I ask, is because adjusting the carb today I was only able to obtain 13.5-14hg of vacuum. Unless I turned up my idle speed to 1k then I can get over 15hg

I remember those cars. We pulled a 262 SB V8 from a '75 Monza 2+2 and beefed it up and put it in my buddy's '62 Chevy panel truck. That little small bore V8 was a screamer and pushed that big truck with power to spare. The thing sounded like it had a little jet engine under the hood.

Yeah, I stay as far away as possible from those kinds of discussions because (for me) they just continue to reaffirm the old adage that "Empty buckets make the most noise".

They just show us why/how we have Donnie as President. For better or worse....
 
It also reaffirms the brilliance of the Founding Fathers and the system of checks and balances they created to assure that the madness of some can never become a tyrannical reality of madness imposed upon the nation...and cannot substantially threaten the integrity of the Republic they envisioned with "Liberty and Justice for all".

America means no tyrant, madman or dictator can ever use the "tyranny of the majority" or the office of President to impose their will upon the Nation. The Constitution stands above all and only Congress can amend it. That means both the House and Senate along with the President (or without in an override vote) must vote for an amendment...and it can stand only if the Judicial Branch finds it permissible within the letter and intent of the core Constitution.

To put it into simpler terms..."This is America Jack...nobody gets to play God here".
