Hi guys,

I´ve got a 1938 Plymouth Business Coupe P 5 as a rolling chassis, but with a Mustang II front end, so my 1970 Duster would have his "father" standing nearby in the garage
soon. ( ok, soon means in a few years :)

Can anybody help with some internet links / adresses for parts for that car please ?
Glass, trimm, fenders, sideboards, seats, rear lights, mirror....

Car should get a 318 + 904 AT, pwr steering, new wiring .. all what the 1970 Duster got in the last years.

Regards

Peter

VERY COOL!! Maybe you'll have to paint them the same color so the family resemblance will be obvious.

Yes, thats my idea too - same color at both cars !!!#-o

I can´t await to see them standing nearby ready.

My neighbor has a 38 rusting in his back yard won't come down from $3800 rather let it rust into a pile

Cool old car! I love these old Mopars because they look chopped from the factory. There are a few places with some parts. Just Goggle it. More pics please. This is the one I have in the corner of my shop waiting for the right time to built it. I built this four door a couple years ago. Even the four doors look cool. Can not wait to see what you do to yours.
Here is mine.
The four door.

Where did you find a 38 Plymouth in Germany?
They are hard to find in the USA!

@harleydodge1 : NICE ! Your 2-door looks like mine, but at your pic I see what I also need: bumpers, grillefigure on top, door handles
Now I found these parts in the net ... let´s see what I need axactly when car is here.

@sireland67 : Sorry that I found it in US ( before you can do it ) - I shot it on ebay and I think, it´s a fair business, car is from CA.

In the beginn of december the car arrives here and than I can check that project by myself.

Peter

@sireland67 : I had a second offer for a 38 with a BB, but a little rusty and for a higher price ( 14 k - ok, may be thats the price for the oversea buyers) - in this condition I think it is too much - but the car looks complete.

If anyone´s interested I can make the contact.

Peter

@ BWdart: 3,8 K complete with all parts, trim and so on ?
So if you will wait longer, the restauration will much more cost than now. I wish you, that most of the parts are restaurable and you don´t need new parts - because they are expensive or not to get !

Buy it, bring the car into dry area and THAN YOU can wait.
If the rust is quickly, one more of these rare cars is lost !

Peter

My want to take a look at the H.A.M.B. Website, lot of knowledgable guys over there and parts for sale. Nice car by the way!

Coolness....................

Hope I will get the ´38 also in this shape, inside looks really good for me, why do you want to work on it again ?

...and yes, I´m happy to had win this auction on ebay - this car will be one of an handfull of exist cars in europe.
I can´t await to see it standing nearby the ´70 Plymouth DUSTER in same color as "father" and "son" ( sorry for my bad english ). I think this pic will be a "one of a kind" in the world!

Nice, that YOU have some swap meets there - would you invite me for that ?....
May be it would be nice to go around there, have some talks about these early MOPARS and some beer ???

@ cktasto

THX, I found it.

Peter

the original bench seat is not so comfortable these days hope to convert to buckets, install a new wiper motor, and get the odometer working in the speedo,,,maybe a front sway bar if i get that far,,good luck with your 38

Pre war street rod Mopars, are so cool they don't even qualify, on the coolness chart. Saw a clean Black Cherry 34 Plymouth street rod for sale(Y2K era..) for 6K. Been Camaro front clipped ,sat low ,had traditional wires & BFG'S,plush velvet rose velour upholstery. It was set up, for an LA/904 set up. One of those you want, but won't make that puddle jump.( Wish I had...)

I have a 1940 Plymouth P10 coupe 360 6 pack 904 fat man rack 8.75 355.Will be on the road spring of 2016

Hi Guy´s :
it´s time to write what is done on the 1938 since 2017-february:

Car is parted out carefully, the grille is overhault, fenders and chassis were sandblasted and now they´re painted with POR 15 ( inside ) and out with a epoxy paint as a base for the later coloring.
Rear axle is also new painted and was installed under the frame last weekend.
Next will be : overhauling the doors with new glas and rubber, also with power windows

I´m awaiting also the new sheet metal for the back side and the rocker panels...these are verry rusty...
