Here we go! LOL

Not sure the tranny would be happy with a hit like that.
I did take the PW to look at another PW in your neck of the woods yesterday. Nice fellow, didn't misrepresente, but just to much work to make it a city slicker again. I believe it will make someone a great farm/horse trailer truck.

Hit it with the juice. If it fails you will find the week link!

I don't think it will take a week. I think about the second time he hits that bottle with that overdrive transmission is going to just explode.

Oh I totally disagree! I see no difference in my 4 speed and the overdrive except for of course the actual overdrive gear. Lord knows I wouldn't be hitting it with no juice in overdrive! LOL then NASA we could have problems!

LOL this is the part that I try and stay away from like the plague, having my parts in someone else's hands.
I'm very hopeful that I'll get it back before I'm ready for it.

When is Kenny getting the cam done? He ain't that busy. His slacker *** can walk back there and grind it in an hour if he's not bullshitting on the phone.

I talked to Kenny, he is has a SPECIAL grind for jpar. very SPECIAL !

Is that his secret retard grind...because I called Kenny and told him that's EXACTLY what Jpar needed.
Well if you knew Kenny well enough, you know he has the SPECIAL grind for you and jpar. SPECIAL !

I pretty much figured as much but I'm got my gasket scraping to do and stuff like that too. And I got to figure out what cheap radiator I want to buy for this damn thing.

I should have gave you a ring when I was up that way and made you buy me some squirt seeing as how you owe me for all the great advice I've given you over the years....

I might have to give your buddy a call tomorrow and see what's going on? I mean is he grinding that cam with a bicycle pedal Millstone or something? One lobe at a time?...

He starts with a 6 inch angle grinder. Then he does the middle work with file. He will finish it with a fine file.

I called Ken this afternoon and he said the cam was done this morning and that he was just writing out the cam card for it a few minutes before I called. So I went down there and got it and lo and behold there it is still on the polishing lathe.
This is the kind of experience that you don't get when you order a cam from Summit or Muncie or one of those other places. To go pick up your cam that's been customly ground and have the employee (The Duck) grab it off the lathe and put it in a box right in front of you and hand it to you. CAN YOU SAY " MADE IN AMERICA!"
Even having the engine built and being able to go see the block being shot peened or seeing the block after it's been bored freshly. Or one of my favorites being there when the crank is being spin balanced.
I know I'm getting the same exact thing is if I click the button on the internet and punched in my credit card number, but being there at the shop smelling the cutting oil and shaking hands with the employees that work on things seems to be the real hot rod experience for me when things are out of my hands.

The DUCK is one of a kind. Know how he got the nick name? Classic story. BTW...the DUCK was the first guy at PIR to burn me on a technicality in the tech line. I called him on it and he proved me wrong. I had to go home and study the rule book so I didn't get humbled like that again.

I can only imagine the amount of humble pie you ate in your life! LOL
I'm hoping you'll come down to PIR and let me hand you a slice! LOL

Also it was pretty cool to see all of those different cams. By the thousands! I don't know why I didn't take pictures :BangHead:
There was cams bigger than me or just a shopping cart full of roller cams...
(Probably going to Hughes for whiplash cams lol! Not really, but someone dose..)

As part of this cooling down effort I'm going to get rid of the electric water pump but I wanted to leave it sealed to the timing cover in case I wanted to use it again. So I sold a 318 out of my old truck for a hundred bucks to some young kid and I told him all I wanted was the timing cover so I could use it with a manual water pump. So I go to get the thing off before the kid shows up and one of the long water pump bolts won't turn. I ended up cutting the head off and getting the water pump off and I mean prying It Off! Then I cannot get this bolt turn for nothing so I had to go ahead and get medieval on it! Believe it or not I got it to turn but to this moment it's still stuck in that timing chain cover! LOL at least I got it off the motor.
