What times u turning. And yes rev limiter is being Installed also not taking any chances on over reving it

Get a 950 carb, my w2 408 was down close to 30 hp on dyno switching from a QF 950 to a QF 850 of the same series.

Beautiful car, and nice engine combo by the way! It will be awesome, I love mine!

Not quite ready run the 1/4 yet.... next spring maybe. Have all the parts but have some bodywork and paint to finish up.
Planned on running an 850 annular discharge for street but may have to move up a bit...

Went to check out an Abody 8.75 that was on CL 2 Decembers ago in a little mountain town and when I got there it was still attached to a car buried in snow ! I looked at the VIN and saw it was a 4sp 340 Swinger.... I told the guy I couldnt pull the rear end because he would end up scrapping the car ! So I gave him 1200$ for the whole thing !

Doh !!! Lost a post ....
It is still under construction although I have all the parts. Just need go assemble and finish final bodywork/paint.

Why's HFT cam? That's a 30-40 HP loss. That's the only thing I question on your build. That and the cam is a bit small for that displacement.

I missed that... drop the coin and go Solid roller ! Its a waste to have all the flow and no where to go !
Its like dating a HOT NUN !

This will be a daily driver with lots of miles put on it that's why I went with that size and a hydraulic cam
But I can always up size the cam if i want more.

Daily driver as in you depend on it for transportaition ? Or as in you want to drive it often ?

Either way the solid roller will be the ticket. You dont have to go big.... but it really makes life easier and you get way quicker throttle response.
Dont believe the **** about having to adjust valves all the time. NOT TRUE ! Check them every 3000 miles

Not enough duration? It
Not enough duration? It seems like enough lift?
I buy all my engine combinations from Hughes engines. They recommended this camshaft for my set up since it is going to be driven daily and on the hwy. They special build all there cams to get maximum power out of them. As long as it puts me running where I want to be and i can daily drive it with little maintenance I prefer it over a solid lift cam

Fair enough... but when my 408 waxes your 408s *** you will know why...lol

And I will drive it across country to the strip...hehehe...

Seriously... unless this is your only car the solid will be the way to go. The drawbacks are way over hyped. And I am a Grampa driver !

M SCott - Daily driven on the Hwy.?
Yea man! That will be good to go for sure.

@mbaird - 850 on the street? Your good to go.

Not sure if you are mocking me...but **** yeah....
As Jim Jeffries would say...
Oh no! Mocking NOT! Total negative on the marking!
Form all I can see and all that I have read, an 850 on your mill is A-OK! I see NO problems

6Honestly.. I am not the guy that will drive a radical car despite its drawbacks ... I sell Porsches , Mercedes , Nags and Rovers for a living.
I ran a way more radical solid cam 360 W2 motor and it was liveable... I also had a 70 Charger with a 440 and a 575 solid roller that idled like stock and drive great ! I drove that car every day !! No issues !
