What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Next step, sometime maybe next weekend is organize parts shelves, and loft full of stuff for both barracudas. I must be a nut. It was 106° out there. Had my 4' box fan running, all doors open, still frigging hot. I'm thinking that Hell called, and they want their weather back.

Decided to drive up to the beverage store and get a case of Coors Light as the fridge was running low. While out it made sense to go fill up with some rec90 as there are lots of car shows next month. Seems I may have caused a few rear end accidents in my venture as people slow for no reason but to look at the car. A 65 MPH highway on any day went to 40 MPH. Stupid people trying to break their necks and got what they were looking for.

0-60 in????? I caught up with the semi. Good thing he moved over or I would be testing my stopping power as well.

I will be replacing the thermostat in the 500, it didn't like overheating. Added some oil and the noise went away. Breaking in an engine for the first time is a little nerve wracking by yourself, made a few mistakes, none catastrophic thankfully. Gotta set the fast idle and she should be good to go. I also chased the wires and found they cut the brake wire and had it connected to something else, simoly plugged it in on the accessory plug and I have break lights, one tail light, and turn signals!

For the last few hours at work I've been dreaming of what is to come, down the road.

took my car to the 1st annual car show at the Chrysler dealership in Chilliwack on Sunday

Got the engine mocked up for the 68 Dart. Cleaned up a pair of later year SB valve covers I have for now. Still looking for 68 originals. Got air cleaner pie tin and some touch up paint. Got the new eddy rpm intake on. Still needs another coat once everything is buttoned up for good. Plus the bypass hose and all will get painted like the factory.

Then when I got home I replaced a piece of trim on the driver seat with a better one.

Cleaned out the crap you see above, put the rear seat cushion on properly, and got the seat belts ready for the kiddos.

Found the rear view mirror under the rear seat, wondering where it went. Put that on too.

Dam it's way to hot for that out your way....lol
Fill it run it for a minute.... Turn the wheel all the way to the right and shut the car off and let it sit till the bubbles go away... Do the same all the way to the other side.....
Got to get rid of the air cavitation.... :)

The gas pedal repair on 65 'cuda was to glue (Gorilla Glue) the heel back on that had broke off... And decided to put some Black "Anti Slip" super sticky tape over the heel part to cover up the glue joint and give it a little more durrability.... Pedal is looking much better then it has for years... (My opinion) maybe ⚓

Picture of pedal in previous post...
