Yep 20,530 273 cars. Big competition going on with the Mustang. Sadly the Mustang won.
on the sales floor... Ma Mopar though could have ended it quickly if they'd just offered the thing with a max wedge right from the start...
 
Mopar didn't do too bad in 64 with the 3 Valiant models, the Barracuda and the 3 Dart models. This is just the 273 cars:

There is a '66 Fairlane running around here. I think I saw the cross bolt main bolts from the 427 side oiler block hiding under the 2" primarys. They removed those obnoxious Ford shock towers that were so prevalent at the time and used coilovers. You could just crawl in there and sit down to work on it there was so much room. That same thought had crossed my mind before actually seeing it in practice.
 
I know but until they redesigned the cars for 67 you couldn't shoehorn a wedge in those cars. Even in 67 the factory didn't do it until Mr. Norm showed Ma Mopar it could be done.

well, its official, just got an email from my physical last Thursday, being sent to a medical discharge pending a medical review boards final approval, 3-8 month process. and my hearing dropped 25 points year over year. And oh, my tendon i tore in my knee, MRI shows it not healed correctly, putting my knee cap out of alignment, surgery may be required too.

shes on to something. I noticed it with the judging results in our local show Friday. The crowd vote, there were scores of Mustangs there, from the mid 60s to current ones represented. Even a GT500 fully restored. Even it didn't win the best of show/crowd vote. A custom street rod did. It was several cars down the list and the highest listed mustang.

NO!! build the poly. The WTF looks you get when someone looks under the hood and cant figure out what engine it is, is more than worth it. Plus, you can make some serious power with a poly. a 4 barrel factory intake and right cam and you can nearly match the 383 power output.
 
Well based on my experience the letter always reads that way. You go to a medical review based on the Dr's comments.
A medical review board then determines if you go on to a discharge board.
I'd guess you wouldn't face discharge with a pending surgery for your knee.
I served more than 10 years with a 50% hearing loss and tinnitus. They do give waivers.
Don't get discouraged, its a process, its the Army.

You might think better about the Poly the same way you used to not like Early A's etc., they are such tough units and were always still good after 100k+ miles when the other Big 3's engines would be smoking, the Poly is what kept me in transportation through the 1980's, they made me a believer, '63-'66 was a golden age for them and Mopar designs that just never wore out if you took care of them. Also better gas mileage than LA's, people said that and from my experience I agree, I got exactly 20mpg on the interstate, and plenty of smooth power.

Leaky valve covers was the only issue I had.
