Picked up another 65 dart

Did you wind up with an extra set of candy canes?
Not a extra set but a set of new ones. The car has the drivers side but is damaged and the passenger side is half missing. I have a good set of used ones that I will put on this car and keep these for my other 65 that I am building.

Those things are unobtainium. Layson's and Classic have been out of stock for many months. That's a score.

Darn candy canes are a pain! I guess just not enough demand for the repoper to keep them in stock for the vendors. The more I work in these old cars the les particular I get!!! Carpet, headliner, door panels, trim, shiny paint!!! Its for sissies!!!!!!! and those that love to spend $$!!! ha

how did you weld the steel diff supports to the iron pig?

So just wanted to give a update on the car. I have been driving it a ton. Just this weekend alone I put on a little over 150 miles. It’s super fun to drive. Now the bad thing. It leaks and leaks a ton. My garage floor is covered in oil. So my plan now is I moved my other 65 from the rear garage and put this one in its place. During the winter I plan to remove the engine and trans a do a complete reseal Not a tear down. I want it back on the road this spring. Hard to believe I picked this car up so cheap. This is not even a set back.

Glad you are driving and having FUN! The fun factor is what it is all about. CHEAP? Real world prices on early A bodies that are unrestored drivers is very affordable! Sure you can spend ton on any old car but remember this is a hobby and if spending $ on that toy make happy do it, but I bet driving it is the best source of fun!!!
