I hate winter!

Nope! Not talking about a 'bunny hill'.
Here's the ski runs in Big Bear, SoCal...this is about 1.5 hours from Disneyland and about 2 hours from the beach if you'd rather surf.

Yeah it’s not a very big ski hill compard to that but it’s very popular and a lot of people go here, it’s pretty decent sized for what we have here in Central Minnesota. There’s a lot better ones in other parts of our state.

I sawed and burned wood when I lived back in Missouri. Only heat source. Here in SE Texas, the "piney woods" and tons of hardwood, I have no real access to timber. Few locals sell firewood and the few that do want $300 a friggin cord, and few of them even know what a rick or cord is!!! Go figure!
On top of that they haul post oak in from 90 mi away and red oak from here out to there! Ha
Thinking about just burning cow chips!

And, I God wanted us to live in all that cold and snow, we would be born with thick fur, and our feet would look more like rabbit feet.

I think I’m allergic to Winter. I break out in dry pale skin, cold fingers and toes along with an overwhelming desire to eat and sleep.

Maybe I should see my doctor...in Hawaii.

I welcome the brown spots I hate mowing!! I mowed the last time about a month ago I wish i could get away with mowing once a month all year. Lol

Grass is done here, but I have a big maple down the side still dumping leaves. Might run the mower to chop them another time or two

Yea I'm done mowing weither it needs it or not. I replaced one of the back tires earlier this year (I bought both sides but only one absolutely needed it) well in the process of moving my mower out of the way to work on my engine I rolled the tire off the rim ( tried to move it when it was flat). So I figure now is a good time to replace that side also. But I havent gotten around to it yet. My poor mower is beat all to crap but it cuts good. Iv had a good run of bad luck when it comes to mowers. The last couple years. I have rebuilt two Briggs and Stratton engines in the last 5 years or so. The current mower complety ate the cam lobes they where a perfect circle. Lol

I migrate to the living room when winter begins. I move my TV and turn the recliner to face the Wood stove and TV’s new location.

A gigantic middle finger from me to the cold and snow.

Only I’m out of firewood, I’ve used up what I had set aside and a friend has yet to return my brand new chainsaw...

My tooth brush, ok, my wife, maybe, my chainsaw, NEVER!

First snow here gave us about 16 inches, been raining the last few days, only snow left is what the snow plow dumped on the side of the street, one thing I can say with certainty is, the Duster has never seen it, the original owner also confirmed it when he was in town when we met up. Gonna stay that way too.

Mine has seen lots of snow and will continue. What it won't see anymore (except as viewed from its spot in the driveway)is the salted roads that nearly sent it to the crusher.

Pellet stove is plunking away happily in the basement.
$6.00/day.
I prefer it over electric, cost is about the same. But house feels warmer.
Furnace rarely comes on,and when it does, it runs about only a couple minutes.

Just another day in Long Beach. It may 'rain' tomorrow afternoon...1/2 inch! Ha...well see.

At some point i'll have to get back into snowmobiling. That really shortens the winter. It's a short lived season here for the snowmobilers, and ya store 'em for the rest of the year. But man, it's a blast! One of the most fun sports I've been a apart of...….

……. and no, not cold when snowmobiling. In fact, most days I actually ended up sweating... believe it or not

zkx14 , a lot of folks are converting to pellet stoves . There are no more paper mills in N.H. or Vt . so there is a market for pellets . We have the power go out and pellet stoves need electricity to run the auger . I think it 's doable as an alternative to the buck , split , stack method .

If it came down to needing an alternative to oil and doing less work... But then I have to buy pellets. for now, I have still managed to keep up with enough free firewood and it's good exercise

200 watts for the average stove. Ran mine on an inverter during a power outage. Inverter on car,ran cord into house, pellet stove,tv ,satellite and a lamp on 1000 watts. Ran car 15 minutes every hour.power was restored after 5 hours.

Then there’s this..

that winter i had to push banks back to the hydro pole, completely buried the picnic table beside it.
The banks were 2x that height by march. The last heavy snow i blasted one path down the drive and called it quits. Had nowhere to push snow to after that. Thank goodness it warmed up a few weeks later.
I HATE WINTER!!

LUCKY....

It must be getting close here to, I got three 3 fireplaces going. Altough to be fair one of those is an outside bonfire

The best weather from late September through April is here at 31547, Kings Bay, Georgia. It is 64 degrees now. The gulf stream current keeps the temperature more mild on the coast than the rest of the surrounding area. It is usually very humid, and very hot June, July, August...but only in the 80's-90's.
