Stop in for a cup of coffee

Happy Saturday from the frozen tundra, we are turning last buckets of apples into applesauce today, and remaining tomatoes into ketchup. On plus side I stopped by paint shop to gaze longingly at my Demon. All the hardware door handles etc etc was stripped off and they were actually sanding like bandits on it. They did not know I was stopping by so that was a good sign!
 
Wish I could find an old manual Coats changer. I can do most anything with one of those.
 
Good Morning All! Bunch up early today I see, not me tho. Just took the dogs to the kennel, going to wife's company picnic today, in Puyallup so staying over (long drive).
 
Good morning crew...happy Saturday. Got the lawn mower and brush taken care of yesterday. Then an Irish benefit for a friends daughters Irish dance school fund raiser. 4 course meal, with a different drink at each one, plenty of Guinness after and a great cigar on the patio with a couple bundies. Great time. Now, have to install my new shocks and put the hubs back on the Demon.....

Yeah, it is the new place. I found out yesterday that they took on a new group of investors and they are the same investors that drove the last 2 places I worked at into the ground. Their first move was to layoff all the finance and admin people and put their own people in place.

My advantage is that they know me and like me...but that won’t stop them from slowly destroying the place as they get richer. It’s going to be a slow motion train wreck.

Friends don't let friends use KYB shocks.
Better off with parts store Monroe or Gabriel or whatever is carried these days.

To little damping on small sudden changes, like cobblestone, pothole edges, road bumps, etc.
I've got a set in the garage collecting dust for the past 20 years. Might be good in an emergency or somehting. I hate throwing things out that still work...
 
One of the best things I ever did was changing from the KYBs to the SPAX.

When I started, there was very little choice.
Koni or KYB were about it in the after market.
Koni wasn't even really offering them. You had to have the drag race versions converted to the road race version.

Had a friend using KYBs on Saab. Same issues.

Now there are lots of in between choices. The Spax are a pain to get in the USA, but they were a great deal when there was no other choice than going Konis at nearly $400 a corner.

How long ago were you using the KYBs? The new generation isn’t the same as the old one.

KYB shocks are not bad for average guys driving on the street. Matt, you actually road race your car, whole different can O worms. IMO.
 
Well thanks for all the feedback. I will put them on and try them as the ones on it are so very shot that it is scary at times....and never been on the highway with it yet.

I’m the same way. It’s funny really, my siblings subscribe to the notion you can always buy new at the store. Me, I grew up raised mostly by my grandparents who were born just after the war and depression, sometimes you don’t have money for the part you need. Big difference between me who grew up on the farm and my siblings who grew up in town
