Stop in for a cup of coffee

I've been applying to stuff online, but have been for 4 months now with no luck...

Plan for now is to keep looking, taking my class, and applying for unemployment for the first time in my life... I don't like to take hand outs, but these assholes deserve it... :icon_fU:

They walked another co-worker of mine out today also... I'm not the only one... :mob:
Prob nothing to pursue against them since the gave two of you a 'layoff'.

I meant you could be busy troubleshooting and fixing peoples mopars as much as you wanted. Could just be side work while you're taking the classes. Could be on your own or a setup like Rustyratrod is doing.

Slow day in here....Everybody working, or what ?????
My fault :( haven’t been on all day. Did some more flooring this morning. At the real job now.
Sounds like a crap day and last night for a few of yuins.:wtf: But all’s well that ends well...

Hit them with a retaliation lawsuit? And press criminal charges?
Not much to sue for.
What would be the claim?
Sure he touched him, or was abusive in the way mild hazing is, but really not much of a case and a lot of hassle.
If there's some impropper practices - like age discrimination - then report to the state or fed agency that deals with such things.

There are laws that prevent companies from coming after people for reporting to HR. Illinois is one such state that has those

Fair enough.
The question then is whether its worth a private lawsuit, or just report it to whomever is responsible for enforcement. Could be labor department or state AG or ? That way there's little time or money spent on Karl's part.

The physical assault would go thru local law enforcement but that’s a highly time sensitive matter. State AG would be one most likely. The other would be The DoL of his state. That’s where I’d call first. Without giving names or any thing, I’d inquire about the legality of being walked out after reporting a physical assault to HR.

Yes. I was shooting towards takeing the Coronet.
Hope the weather holds for ya. Very pleasant in Phx this past weekend. There was frost one morning, 60s during the day no wind to speak of. Almost 40 Late Models at the Wild West Shootout, with like numbers of A Mods and B Mods. Very few California racers, 2 LMs and only 1 Modified. Track was badfast, Late Models in the 14s on a green track and they were in the mid 13s by Feature Event time. Every time I visit Az Speedway they have made improvements to the facility since my previous visit. If they would just get a scoreboard happening .

Dude!!! I missed something!!! Sorry to hear this, where did you work, how long did you work there and...wtf happened??

I posted a little about it the other day...

I would rather not name the company just say that they were a large steel/metal distributor...

Ever since I called corporate HR last month they started giving me a target time to unload the incoming trucks.. The supervisor kept narrowing the time and sometimes to where it wasn't possible to do within the given time... They railroaded me to get me out of there... They claimed that they weren't when I spoke to the plant manager and general manager, but I was spot on... I predicted this was going to happen 3 - 4 weeks ago...

I was a temp there for a 1 1/4 years and would have been direct for two years in April...

“Illinois is an at will state. However there are laws in place that state you can’t be fired for making a complaint to HR if it involves an action or actions that are criminal or illegal in nature. Including but not limited to assault, sexual or physical, rape, harassment, etc.”

That’s a paraphrase from my Business law book

I never reported the physical assault to corporate HR, just to the plant manager and general manager... They 'handled it' by making the guy give me a half assed apology...

I talked to the police station today and if I was to proceed to press charges, I would have to cover the court costs... :wtf: :bs_flag:

Not worth pursuing....

I would rather pursue them for wrongful termination and the injury that I sustained... I was hurt twice there while I was there, the most recent one a pulled back, but the other one was a major injury that I had two and half years ago and didn't go to the doctor to find out... I just found out about it when I choked in Sept and it showed up on my x-ray...

Yeah gotta love Illinois. I’d wait to see if they try to fight your unemployment claim. My guess is they will. At that point, I’d try to slam them

Yeah, but they are not going to admit that it was a result of me calling HR... They are going to blame me and call me a "bad worker"... That's how they operate, everything is the fault of the worker, not the management...

Well....we have this 02 Durango that we bought for my daughter like 5 years ago...it was her 1st car, since then she has moved on and bought her own car so we gave her some down payment money in return we keep the Durango...that's right, I paid twice for the same vehicle....bought it for her...then bought it from her... Anyway it was a one owner vehicle,, and it's been super awesome....heated leather and all the bells and whistles. I gave 800 for it when I bought it 5 years ago because it had a cracked servo piston and reverse was out because of that. I go to start it yesterday and....it turns over but wont start...really...so I stop at parts store on the way home today, grab a cap and rotor. It's running now but I shoved the tab of the rotor up under my thumb nail....F@#$!!!! THAT HURT and I cant use for crime spree now as my blood DNA is all over the plug wires....there goes my weekend plans!!!! Lol

Please tell me there’s an email trail?

Thanks. It was the SRT. I usually drive it in a very spirited manner, but today I was just grannying around...thankfully. 10 mph faster and I would have had to wipe it out into the guard rail.
Seems like pretty bizare failure. I don't care how hard you've driven it. Unless it was physically struck by something, I wouldn't expect any factory system to fail like that.

Excactly my thoughts as well. How the hell does a steel brake line just suddenly split open? There are no signs of corrosion on the lines and they have never been disturbed. Tomorrow I’m going to get a closer look and see which line it is and what might have happened.

It had to have been one feeding from the master cylinder into the ABS module. No warning light or code and the system lost pressure to all 4 wheels. It was operating fine earlier in the day.
