Don't make 'em like this any longer:
Yeah, I could relate to the Beav.
The first season is the best. And the last the worst. One of my favorite shows growing up was Leave it to Beaver. I still watch it every morning before I leave the house.
The Honeymooners. Ed Sullivan. We did not get NBC and poorly got ABC out our house. Back then, CBS was channel 4. Both grandparents and both aunts and uncles in town got "all three" LOLOL channels. That was all there was!!!! We used to go out to "gramps" and watch Gunsmoke, Have Gun, will Travel, "The Honeymooners" depending on when we were there.
Gramps had a big 'ol ceramic DPDT switch (I stillhave one!!) that swithed the twinlead between to antennas. One "cut special" and aimed for Channel 2, the other antenna for the other 2
Remember this "sign off" at the end of the tv day.
3, 6 and 10 in the Philly area. Till we got a better antenna and got UHF. Ultraman!I remember three channels too......and "ROB" was the remote control. lol
My Dad bought a TV in 1962 the day before John Glen was launched into space. That was the first thing we watched on a TV we owned. We only got one channel for a couple of years until another town added a network. We had a lever on the antenna mast to turn to get two. After the 10:00 news we watched this..... Remember turning off the old TV and then watching the white dot until it disappeared?
