Fun adventure today....
transmission has the short tail shaft that the RV's have. You can swap the tail shafts... but I'll have to get more info as I'm not a transmission specialist.. LOLI kept trying to see if the transmission had the little brake thing on the back of it for a motorhome?
Likely you'll want the whole planetary gear that's connected to the tail shaft and the housing... By that time just getting a good core 727 big block style and rebuilding it would be the best...transmission has the short tail shaft that the RV's have. yeah, I reckon at some point there will be a reason to go back. He has a ton of IH collectables, a ton of pedal tractors, etc. He is one of those dudes if he doesn't like you, you don't get in. He took a like into us and wanted to show us everything. I asked if it would be ok if I took some videos for my U-tube channel, and he was cool with it. Turns out he knows several racer from Cordova that I know. He used to run a 8 second rail down there. He talked on how tuff it was to win down there, even the foot brake guys cut double 0 lights... LOL. I told him "I know, trust me".Great video of a cool place! If you go back, care to take some extra time and show us the rest of the porcelain signs?
Now you are building my hopes LOLI picked up a 440 that looks very similar to that one, a 1973. Turned out to have a forged crank and windage tray. Hope yours turns out to be the same!
Oh, your a 3 pedal guy, did you hear that Good ole' boy say "his wife ripped the clutch out when he let her drive it"... A cast crank will be fine with the horsepower parameter he's working with.I've never seen a broken Factory cast crank...
Not in a Mopar I haven't.I've never seen a broken Factory cast crank...
I didn't. My son and I had to get it unloaded and put away in the back of the storage shed because we had some other business to take care of. I'll prod around sometime, maybe even tomorrow.did you check the distributor pad for the date code and application
