Trans Blew up

My son lives up in MO. and has a cuda. was a drag car decided to turn it back into a street car.
I was up there last OCT to rebuild the engine, if anyone remembers that little bit of drama. LOL
Anyway he put a spare trans in it then . 904, with MRVB. He texted me today he blew it out while doing a burnout in 1st gear . He said he thought the tires where spinning then heard a POP and now has no forward gears.

Any trans GURUs please chime in on what probably blew.

Whatever it was that broke was not good. Either way its gonna have to come apart. Just got to hit 2nd gear before the tires grab or use the bolt in sprag. Maybe the pump blew. Good luck with it.

Had a friend loose a sprag in his Super Bee at a car show. He backed it all the way back to our site and trailered it home.

Al, it looks like you will be coming to MO sooner than you thought.
I have a friend close by that has some 727's I believe they are for BBM's.

Jim I hope to make it up there soon. . I'll will let you know for sure. He has a S/B in his cuda. I just got rid of 2 727s for a S/B.
He might be on his own on the trans.

al i teched cars at gateway for bout 14 yrs. I have a small block 727 case and may be able to scrounge him some parts if he needs them I live in jerseyville ill. I was the ",good tech guy" not the old grouchy guy that slept leaning on fence.

We raced there around 2006 -2010. Did you work there then ?

al, if you raced at mar in wentzville, you may remember bill moran. he was tech guy there. has a rat tail not pony tail. he was hired at gateway in 2000 i think. i went to work for him at gateway and stayed til 2014. went through 6-7 track managers and reggie luter twice. most of time there were 2 of us. big al(the grumpy ole bast@#$) me. i was usually always at the tech lanes while al was off and running. if i can help,please let me know how.

Thanks rbkt, but I think he'll figure something out. Ye I used to race at MAR also way back in the late 70s and and then again after they opened up again in the 2000s
