Neighbour put on quite a firework show last night, was 30 minutes of kabooms!

The last time I was in a C-130 some guy in the back dropped the door tossed my luggage out the back and screamed at us to chase our bags!
Hahahahaha not doing a drop lol. The last time I was in one was like a roller coaster ride, rocket assisted take off, hit some thunderstorms later on. Lots of people puking
I’ll have to post a video from a few years ago. Mom’s neighbor was a doctor and the year he retired, he did one heck of a fireworks show. Rented his own radio frequency and streamed his own music, it lasted an hour and a half non stop. Longest show I’ve ever seen.
the next year, he blew his hand off during set up and was severely burned on one side. He hasn’t done fireworks since.
Ahh on a C130 we did a tactical takeoff after a missile lock on warning activation. Just glad I wasn't as close to those puking as some were.
A tight 360 circle 50 feet off the ground, booster activation, and then straight up...hold on!!
Why did they need JATO assist? Never ever heard the used it except for Fat Albert?

So looks like the “Hops sample” I had ratholed for TMM is going on a bike ride. I had planned on sharing it at MITP in Minneapolis. I am to cheap to mail it so I reckon I will throw it in a bag and head to the Mopar show in Cedar Falls Iowa come August. Great excuse for a putt. And yes the dumb dog is watching the squirrels trying to figure out how to eat them. Front yard is about 600 acres of wheat. I tried to get it in The pix as it is always majestic and beautiful, with our wind up here it is truly amber waves of grain. I always love planting wheat, we rotated between wheat, corn and squash. Squash just looks like chaos but is great margin! Corn is always a throw of the dice. Wheat while low margin it just plain rocks for beauty.
Guess because they thought they had a missile coming up their *** I don't know but was there for the ride.
Maybe it wasn't a JATO but we went up pretty darn fast.
The pilot came back and told us all what had happened.
I initially thought we were crashing, we were that close to the ground as we turned.
I have been in some wild rides. Best one was in some Canyons in Brazil. Lots of guys puking on that one because the ramp was down and you do turns it screws with you seeing the ground sideways during evasive flying maybe 50 feet on each side and terrain following. Also a few in flight emergency. They pucker up your asshole for sure.
Bet it was a J model, they can take off really fast.
The scariest ride I ever did was Map of the Earth in a Blackhawk. Fastest, scary and just mere feet of the ground, up over trees, power lines, back down to ground level. Ugh never again

I don’t know a J model from a A model. All I know is nothing good ever happens once you are inside! Being a Marine it was typically our transportation of choice as we always got low budget wheels! Many a brawl for sleeping rights on the pallets. Some killer king of the hill brawls. You would just get to sleep and next guy up would ambush you. Just young men burning off adrenaline trying not to be scared to death. Much prefer my pretty little feet to be on the ground. You guys can have all that flying nonsense!
I loved flying in the pave hawks. We had a ton of ex Army pilots they were nuts. We had the blimp hangers a nd one guy flew right though it. Man did he get grounded for a while.
Should have just passed out boxes of crayolas . That would have at least kept your jarheads entertained

LOL we had two beds for the PJ's to get some sleep on the long rescue flights, usually a ship some on needed medical attention. We would refuel the Pave Hawks. think the longest rescue wat 1900 miles out. PJ 'sI have a lot of respect for sure. When I used to fly in them any distance I would bring a pocket hammock and put it up. I knew where to hang it right over the ramp in the back over the flare tubes.
Made out or redwood also! Freaking huge!
My son is over for the weekend, still conked out in the next room over. He was infantry (Marine) as a tow gunner. He found out he liked medical when they "fixed a pig" during field training. He's now out and a Junior at U of W. He's just taken his MCAT awaiting results so he can apply to medical schools.
