I'll have to miss the last few minutes of gomer Pyle but in the name of mopar...

LOL Gomer. That's a good show. Kitty hates it. Man Jim Neighbors could really sing.
I remember there's one song you did that was half in Spanish and half in English is really good.. give me a couple more minutes are these pictures are taking forever to download

Feliz Navidad. I cannot believe you remember that. It's a good song.

I hadn't welded in 20 years I just got my Harbor Freight welder about 5 years ago and was upside down with about a foot of room to slip underneath the car LOL..
It may be ugly but it's held up nice through drag racing and wheelies and everything...
Making a little opening in the rear frame and sliding the metal inside of it I believe really made it extremely Superior to something bolted on or welded on the outside.. you can even see where I stitched it up against the floor as well..

This isn't my car but where I got the idea from... I think it paints it a little clearer..

OK I got it now. I thought that's what you did. Did you get the measurements of the square tube? Thickness? Don't upset the dog again. lol

1 1/2 and 2 1/2 just like I thought..
the dog had taking up the whole chair when I got back but I did sit down just in time to see the beginning of Green acres and Mr. Douglas went to his closet to see what the noise was and opened it and it was the female Carpenter Ralph and she whacked him in the head with her Hammer LOL..

Ralph. Boy was she ever cosmetically challenged.

This picture here on Post 31, the one I got my idea from looks more like the metal stock was put on edge instead of laying flat. I cut my opening a little wider and lay it flat...

Thanks man. All this is a big help.

Looks like Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder teamed to weld those in.....

I have a friend who has the EXACT year and model tractor they used in Green Acres. The Hoyt Clagwell tractor was fictitious of course. It was in reality an old Fordson tractor. I went through that whole tractor for my friend. It ain't pretty but it runs like a top.....unlike The Hoyt Clagwell. lol
