I think there may be a difference in the exhaust manifolds from 305 to 350 also.
 
How do you know the difference between a 305 or 350??

That's actually tough. The 305 and 350 use the same casting numbers and crank stroke, so the only way for sure is to measure the bore. .......unless there's another way I am not aware of.

That's about as WRONG a list as that old rear axle chart that was floating around here awhile. There are SEVERAL 350 and 305 blocks that have the same casting number. You gotta be careful.

I can't say for sure how accurate any of that might be, even some of the people on the Camaro site were in disagreement about whether the blocks were the same castings or not. At least it's some information. I'd ask my brother, but he's more into big block Chevy and Pontiac, so likely no help there.

I could be mistaken about that. I might be getting the 305 confused with the 307, 327 and 350 blocks that all used the same casting number that ended in 010. I think that's what I am thinking about.

Thought 010 was on the heads.

The 010 I am referring to is on the block. All the chevy guys say it's a high nickel content on the 350 blocks. <rolls eyes>. That same casting number was used on the 307 and 327 too.
 
Chevy trucks=inexpensive performance

I’m a Mopar Guy when it comes to cars, but give me a vintage Ford truck over all others.

My 1972 F250 with a 360 V8 was the best damn truck I ever had. My 1996 F150 with a 300 straight six was a close second. My 1996 Bronco 4x4 with a 351 was a serious machine.

Mopar built the best cars...Ford built the best trucks.

Yeah, I said it.

Have to agree with you, even though I have owned lots of square body GM's, I've also owned plenty of Ford trucks, love my 1990 Bronco, been my daily driver for about 3 years now, only problem in that time was an alternator failure. I sold my 2007 Expedition when I started driving the Bronco because it just sat in the driveway for months, unused.
 
You need my 96 Dakota. 3.9 auto 2 wd. It gets 22 hwy. Cheap.
I actually thought about putting a 92 3.9 in my valiant wagon. There was a 66 wagon on the site long time ago set up like that and it really impressed me. I have a 3.9 out of a 92 dodge van. But eventually I went to the path of least resistance and went with the old slant.


In regards to the truck. Need something that can handle a car hauler trailer.

I have the dart for commuting but need something heavy to drag home more car carcasses

Yea, with what I think is a burnt valve and slipping transmission, and a few other issues.

I'm eye level with the grille so I'm not really excited about rock climbing my way in there and performing surgery

Sounds like just the truck for the job to me.
 
Morning. So I called the local Post Office yesterday. The girl that cleans the place answered the phone? WTF that never happens. Guess what it is closed till further notice since EVERYONE there either has Covid or were exposed. This really sucks for all of them and everyone else.

Thats what picnic tables are for. Holds tools, parts and cold snacks. But pulling heads on that wouldnt be any fun. What i have done in the past is pull the front wheels off, and drop it pretty much on the ground.
