Back in the late 70’s early 80’s when I new **** about my Mopar’s. I had a friend with a 70 Duster 340. He was my go to Guru when repairing my ride .He ordered a close ratio kit for his current stock power steering box. After anxiously waiting for weeks he was shocked to receive an envelope with instructions and a brass washer maybe some seals I can't recall. He thought maybe he was getting different gear or something. Well he installed it and it worked awesome. Before he installed it he took exact measurements so he could duplicate it. Has anyone in past ever hear of such a kit ? I can’t find anything on the Web . I’m trying to find and contact him about this in hopes he may still have the info to duplicate this. I just found this link on power steering (good read) I will probably do some checking and adjusting to see if I can get some slop out of my box. After reading I don't think I have the skill and or patience to dissasemble a power steering box.

I think that in an older Mopar Action (question/answer section) something like that was mentioned.

The only thing I could find was this seal kit

Sounds like the reaction springs and internal stops to keep it from turning too much with the Pitman Arm. That’s talked about in a TSB on the Hamtramck Historical site

he still needed a “T/A” pitman arm to get the actual faster ratio.

I always thought the term "close ratio" had to do with transmissions, not, steering gears. Now, if you mean "fast ratio" that would make sense.
