Well, it going under that absorbed energy instead of crushing the rear of your body.

gas tank, springs, rear housing’s unbolt.

I guess at least they have insurance. Time to have your insurance agent work for you. That's why you pay them.

Tell geico to shove it
This is all on her (failure to maintain a safe distance)

Get a quote and have your insurance agent tell them that is what the number is

My worst nightmare! Hope all are ok!

I carry regular with State Farm as well as enhanced insurance with Hagerty. Hard to tell but 4200 may not cover.

Remember that insurance has to pay for all the damages to be repaired to pre crash condition. Make sure you call your insurance also. Most of the time they will help you out working with the others insurance. Don’t take your car to a chain body shop, they don’t do a good job repairing classics. Most of the time they will try to under cut you and get you to settle for a cheaper amount, don’t do that, tell them you want them to cover all the damage. Have the body shop check the frame rails, the mid body, c pillars and such.

No:(:elmer::eek: I am not talking from experience but I think I would take my time get multiple estimates.

You know, that don't look to bad from here. Im sure its jacked but is the axle even displaced?

Like everyone has said already, but bears repeating

- DO NOT accept Geico’s offer

- DO call your insurance agent

- DO take the car to a shop that repairs classics and get an estimate. Not a chain body/paint shop. Get multiple estimates if you can

Looks like it could have been worse, but don’t go on looks. Get a quote from a reputable shop of YOUR choice. They have to play by those rules, don’t let them shortcut you.

If you consider basic rudimentary estimating. Materials stand at about 1/3 total cost with the other 2/3's being labor. Could you buy all the parts and paint to fix it for 1600 dollars?

Go and get as many estimates from REPUTABLE shops as you can, get your insurance agent involved, and DO NOT be in a hurry to just get it fixed! It looks like your Dart was in pretty nice condition before it was hit, do you have a recent appraisal? If so, keep that close when getting estimates and any time you are dealing with the other diver's insurance company.

Truly sorry that you are now going to have to go through this, and I do hope that you are not injured, get yourself checked out too! The possibility of a collision is something that we all think about every time we take our cars out, but it should never stop anyone from enjoying their ride.
I have had several close calls in the last couple of years, and one minor collision about 10 years ago when an elderly woman made a left turn in front of me, I almost avoided it, but she came to an almost complete stop directly in front of me and I just tapped the side of her car. She didn't even see me, hear me, or now that I had hit her car, no way she should have been on the road at that stage. I was very lucky to have only a small scratch on my bumper and fender extension.

Go talk to one of those ambulance chasing lawyers. You know, the ones who advertise, "In a wreck, need a check?" The first half hour is usually free. It is truly unfortunate, but some state Insurance Departments allow insurance companies to pay claims based on their own books that are based on their own research. Those books do not have to have anything to do with the real world. If their book says your car is worth $10,000, and the state has agreed to allow them to use that secret book, then short of going to court, that will be their final answer. Ask me how I know! I spent a year fixing up a 98 Dakota about 10 years ago. I put a stunning black paint job on it, A lady ran into me and her insurance totaled my truck, and they said it was only worth $2500. KBB was saying $4800 at the time, but the insurance company said the state of Kansas allowed them to use their own secret book. I threatened to hire a lawyer and wound up getting $3700. I didn't really feel like going to court. Since I did all my own work, I was still money ahead.

I got rear-ended my Valiant. The other company agreed to pay/replace all parts damaged if I simply repurchased them and show them proof of receipts... then i got a average labor cost from my area and they also paid me to reinstall my own stuff.
Pipes, headers, bumper, brackets, tapped out the trunk lid a cunt hair. Around 4,200.00 bucks. They are aslo concerned of fraud 'throwing checks to the wind'.
Work with the adjuster, get 3 estimates. Look for parts deals...explain to them..
Forgot to add i had no injury due to the recaro seats i have that hug you in place and have a well placed headrests.

Geico is one of the worst insurance companies to have as a claimant. Geico doesn't take estimates from body shops. They pay what they pay and that is all there is to it. Most Geico field adjusters are under 25 and couldn't tell you what a socket is. Remember current estimating software doesn't go back far enough to give actual labor rates for your car so all the times on the estimate are manually imputed based on their "professional" experience. I would as mentioned above have a reputable restoration shop get you an estimate that you can then attempt to use to negotiate with Geico on claim severity. Remember their initial goal is to get you to accept their damage appraisal and take their check. Minimize severity is goal number one for Geico. If you need another estimate written I can do one for you using the same software Geico uses but I would need some information like, vin, miles, damage photos, and prevailing labor and material rates in your area as well as tax rates.

Also, involing your insurance company is the last thing I would suggest. They don't need to know anything about the claim unless you ABSOLUTELY need them to handle something. They do work for you.... but at a price and they can change your premium rates for being involved in a collision even if liability is placed solely on the other party.

take to your car to a classic car restoration shop, hopefully one that does Mopar's for an estimate.
and I am the last person in the world to feign an injury, but no one blatantly runs into one of my classic cars and gets off with out me getting full compensation to the damage done to the vehicle.
If you have not done this yet, get to your doctor and report the accident and have at least a partial review of your neck and spine. You should be very cognizant of any new sensitive spots, loss of motion, tingling,,,,, I would report some effect to my medical doctor and be sure GEICO is aware of other 'potential' liability.
Hopefully you are fine, but that may help them to re consider what it is going to take to get your car fixed properly.
Remember you also have loss of use of the vehicle and time off work due the accident as well as getting estimates.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident.
Really make sure your neck and back are ok.
At the very least go to the chiropractor and get a tune up. Just my opinion.
Sometimes neck and back injuries take a few days to surface.
I would also go over your car with a fine tooth comb to make sure any damage is covered, as well as contacting classic car shops for estimates.
Do not just settle !
The ball is in your court .
I hope everything goes well !
