How much money could UTG actually be making off of the YouTube channel? All that say it is a win/win for UTG is right.

Considering the differences in 318 performance through the years, and the difference in usage and wear, lets make this a fair fight, and use a 318 reman crate engine, and then throw down the gasket challenge.

The “Fair” part came in when UTG said any year 318, your choice. So choose wisely.

I dont understand the logic in tearing apart a worn out 50 year old core engine, and reassembling with zero new parts or machine work. Literally NO ONE, would go to that amount of work, even the very most low buck guy would at very minimum put rings and bearings in it.

So it would seem but to be honest on what UTG said, he just said it has to be a 318, use only the parts contained within. The carb (2bbl.) & intake must be used. What ever you do to it is fine, but it must be the OEM part.

Think FAST engine. WhT can you do to it on the inside to make it faster? Well, I’ll give you all a hint and say, break out the die grinder and start making things light.

Now, with that said...... what else would you do?
I have a few ideas to make/rework stock parts for a faster more powerful engine.

This is an exercise of being creative with what you have instead of running your credit card through at Summit & Jegs.

The way I heard and interpreted the rules is you must reuse the stock rings. You can hone the cylinder and reuse the stock rings IF the items are not beyond reuse. A crank regrind and new bearings might be a must though. Without going back to the video while I make this edit/reply, did he say that was a no no?

Kind of what I been saying its junk, who wants to waste their time on junk. I wouldn't be surprised if RK guys didn't even acknowledge UTG call out. Its like the bush league calling out the major league. Or like me getting in the ring with Mike Tyson LOL!

I usually am right more often than wrong I can sniff out the bullshit. Building a junkyard 335 HP 383 is different than dicking around with a 318 2 barrel out of a 73 Satellite wagon.

You obviously don't follow much of what they've done. Here is a quick example of a E-body 318 Roadkill car that they pieced together as they made their long trip across the country to the dragstrip in a different state and raced this pile with a 318. I'm not "paying" for the actual race video, but this was the car and engine.

the accuser is the person accusing somebody of something. UTG didn't accuse anyone of being wrong, just stated what worked for him. The accuser would be Roadkill guys. Accusing him of being wrong. So he needs to prove it??? Roadkill needs to prove their accusation. I see you've picked a side as well

Or that Swinger Or the 340 Satellite/ Roadrunner he has sitting there, I think he has a 67 Belvedere also. The guy has competitive equipment I mean he could build a riding mower up for the drags and the riding mower folks would subscribe...then it would be bickering over Honda, Briggs, Tecumseh and Predator powerplants

Its irrelevant if you are trying to make power you'd have zero offset pistons. You wouldn't be dicking around with a low compression, flat top offset pistoned 318. It becomes a moot point like farmers racing tractors.

In this challenge, I think I’d have to via for a little wiggle room on the ability for new rings and crank/rod bearings.
Just incase what ever I open up is trashed.

With the econo W2 heads, only the rockers are unique. The reason they were called "econo" heads, was solely due to the fact that they use the same valves, springs, retainers, and rocker shafts as standard X/J/O/U heads. So it would be way cheaper to put a complete setup together.

If somebody makes a claim, and you say "prove it", than that person should either prove it, or take serious offense and say "you prove it", then divide the Mopar world between to factions to get more YouTube clicks and views while never verifying wether the original claim is based in fact or opinion.

Think about what it would take for UTG to prove it, the actual work of tearing the engine down is nothing, and a set of gaskets. He would need an engine dyno, plus transport the engine there. Its doable but he'd have to spend money. I don't think UTG is worried about being wrong but he might be. Right now about all Tony is saying is, "well all the old MP books said to do it..." or something to that effect. Also factor in that he has a schedule in his head and getting sidetracked with this piston flipping dyno series of videos may not be the direction he has planned to be going in.
