I had a Harbor Freight impact from the early 80s, worked fine for what I needed.

950 ft-lb, eh?

Just use your engine to run a compressor, and hook that impact up to the input spline on your transmission.

I've got that one. Nice impact. I've got a Blue Point that is around 17 years old. It no longer works and never had the power of the Earthquake.

I'd like to see a list of USA made air tools. Not just guesses, either. I just "bet" there AIN'T many.

Doesn't need to be made in USA, just not made by the fentanyl slinging chicoms...

Wasn't my point. What I was gettin at is, there are plenty of good tools made elsewhere.

No disagreement, especially since like you said: there's few if any USA made ones available.

Right. Ingersoll Rand for instance has been made overseas for a while and the quality there is really good.

They could be the best tools ever, personally I still wouldn't buy them if they're made in prc. Any other place is better and plenty of good stuff is made overseas and also not in prc.

"Back in the day," I worked at a service station that did a huge tire business and tune ups etc. We had IR impact wrenches and they ran pretty much all day long. When they would start to get weak, there were a couple of guys who always hung out there who worked at the local IR. (They were one of the areas biggest employers) They would take the tools into work with them, get them rebuilt, and bring them back where they would take a beating for another good length of time. Oh..., the good ole days, LOL.

I have a napa (sioux?) impact. I have been using it regularily for 15 years. I have taken it apart 2 or 3 times to clean and lube it. Its been awesome. What it doesent move there is the big ugga tugga. 3/4” ingersoll my buddy pulled out of the scrap bin. Needed grease and lubricating. Also inlet screen was full of scale from their black iron air piping.

i thought there were guys raving about the earthquake impacts.

I looked at the Sioux air tools just now. They are actually very reasonable. If I needed one, I'd sure get it.

Just googled it and they are made in Murphy, North Carolina.
Been trying real hard to not buy anything made in China. I don't care where else, just not Chyna. Did you hear they are preparing for nuclear war with the US? They are doing a build up of their nuclear arsenal right now and the state media has made no secrets that the main adversary is the US.
I don't want to support the enemy.

Yup. I got news, though. I don't care what anybody says, the US is still the big dawg. China will get its *** kicked in the long run. We'll have some scars, though.

I bet snap on air tools are not even US made. Snap on does make some really nice air tools though.
I have one of the harbor freight impact and it works great. I dont like the dial on the back to change directions, its really hard to turn. Never use the air impacts anymore, my milwaukee cordless impacts do everything I need. I did have to use the air one the other day because the cordless one was just slightly too long to get in a tight spot.
Im willing to bet snap on wont be around in the next 10-15 years. They are steady screwing people over on the "lifetime warranty". You now need a receipt for the tool you bought 30 years ago in order to get the warranty honored.
Harbor freight has a better tool line intended to compete with craftsman, husky, and most chain store brands. I still wouldnt buy it but at least its not total garbage like most of the stuff they sell is.

Snap On is USA made but Blue Point is not. I heard Stanley is building a new place in Texas and bringing production back here.
