Best performing non offset Small block Mopar heads

As bloomer has years into theirs...?

I don't have a clue what Bloomer has in his. As far as I can tell the trickflows haven't done anything impressive. BTW, what have you done with anyone's head?

Please post up some time slips.

I had to refresh my memory on my best with Edelbrock heads with the same engine listed earlier. My 1970 duster is a bracket car not an all out go fast car. I sacrifice ET for repeatability. With a 1.76 low gear powerglide, geared for 1/8 mile racing 4:88 gears, and hauling some 14-32 slicks at 2880 pounds that engine ran [email protected] at Keystone Raceway Park in summer heat. Again with the same wore out engine.

B3422w5 is talking about (The Mystery) Bloomer head, a modified aluminum unit that I know not of where it came from against anyone else’s head. The head doesn’t have off set rockers. So any off set rocker head is disqualified.

If that’s the case then it’s not even close to a racing cylinder head. A racing cylinder head must have offset rockers. Otherwise it’s a street head on a race car.

my point was if someone were willing to make a phone call for details. A google search probably brings the contact info up quite easily.
I get ya but then again, I asked the OP several times without an answer only a side step to the answer.
Thanks :D
Lookie here! Now there’s a hood fella ghanding out the answer no one else seemed to be able to without asking.
No that’s helping!

This is actually how I see it. I hit the agree button but still wanted to reply & state, I agree! But as we see, Pittsburghracer has done really well with his street replacement head. Good job Pittsburghracer! Yea man!!!

Thank you Sir. Not to bad for a full time millwright. Lol

That's kinda where I am too. I mean, that was THE whole point of all the W series stuff. Far as I'm concerned file this in the aluminum slant 6 head file. lol

I don't believe this is Bloomer. I could be wrong though. maybe, lol
Well, nobody else is offering so I thought I'd go looking. I think somebody needs to send Rod a message about this guy. I don't think he'd appreciate the tone his products are being pushed. This IS undoubtedly his Facebook page.
Rod Bloomer

Since when is the trick flow, edelbrock, speedmaster or any other ootb std. rocker head supposed to do anything super impressive!, if I truly wanted to be fast n/a then I would be looking at a different head for sure. None of them are race heads, the trick flow is basically a cnc ported std. port head, and from the sounds of things the bloomer head is a heavily reworked speedmaster. Maybe he does have the secret sauce to make them better than the others but as said already you are just paying for a ported street head.

He might! You never know. But he surely doesn't need people who wave his flag with piss and vinegar. Nobody needs that. He's already managed to leave a bad taste in peoples' mouths about Bloomer without one picture or spec on the heads. Like I said before, that'd be enough to make me go "another" way right there if I was a small block guy lookin to go fast.

if I remember correctly, you were creaming in your jeans about TF’s when they first came out now you are saying they are not super impressive? It was you and that dipstick yellow rose trying to convince me the TF was the head to beat without anyone showing any proof of the heads performance. Strange how people get on the band wagon a push a product that hasn’t been proven. that’s why I stick with W2’s.

Here here! That cast iron head will be on top until you ether tire from it or your 2 time great grand kids remove it to service the short block. This is one very good reason IMO not to shy away from an iron headed hot rod or race car. While the aluminum will save you 50lbs. For a half a tenth. (Since it’s said you’ll gain a tenth for every hundred pounds shed.) Unless something wears out, you’ll probably ever touch it ever again.

Looking forward to using my 2 sets.
1 for the street, the other for a beast.

Since these posts tend to get misdirected is it time to talk about W2 heads and 360-1 heads yet. HEY THIS IS FUN. Lol

I have a Facebook message out to BPE. Message has been seen, awaiting reply.

Thanks.
Have you ported W2’s?

Yes only one set of econo heads I had that I got from a friend. I read up on them and they were a part number that were prone to cracking. I quickly hit slightly over 300cfm with the stock 3/8 stem 2.02 valves. I then match ported a Victor W2 intake for them. With a .520 lift Racer Brown cam I ran 9.82 on BP 93 pump gas at 2900 pounds. They cracked 1.5 years later so I sold the two sets of rockers and intake I ported. Great heads but heavy and expensive to build right. I always questioned myself what if I would have had the race head with a 2.08 valve. If I remember right I shifted that combo at 6400 rpm. They have a beautiful short side that reminded me of a set of AFR 220 Chevy heads I did for a friend

Curious as to what racers, street strip racers on the forum have experienced regards performance of non offset heads.
This is a thread to talk about all such heads.

Anxious to hear what others have or have seen.

A lot of drama over just something to talk about over the winter. I'm sure most of you will use this tech info to make the changes to your cars that are running or near running? I read his post and I don't see how it would upset anyone. He just gave an example of a head he knew about. The little I know Rod, he has been a no BS, likeable and fair man. From what I remember he took a leap and made an investment in something he enjoyed being a part of the results. Like anything else, it's a gamble. I doubt he'd do again based on what I witness. I just don't see the purpose in attacking anyone in your community that are out there sharing their experiences and further what they know when 'you' would stand to gain. These particular heads MAY be difficult to get for the average guy that may not even use them for some time IDK. Plenty of other heads that could be chronicled in HIS thread to make it more 'realistic' but then again how realistic is anyones input that hasn't at least participated in using what they are speaking about? The same kinda thing happened in another thread I started, a few harsh critics whom had nothing to show/share. This appears to be the start of a long winter, let's all try to get along?
