I bought my first more door a couple years ago, a 62 Dodge Dart (Yes a B body). I did the body/paint, was still a roller and a guy last month drove from NE Pa to S E Tx to buy it.
I still have my 64 Belvedere more door 99% done and I looks. Just a driver, original poly push button but cool to me. I did a mild custom paint two tone paint job on it. I added SmittyBilt A100 style buckets (cheap) and it might get the low profile hemi scoop I fabbed out of 20 ga.
I know a few guys that drag race their early B body more door. Why not!!????? Or a more door A body for that matter!
The more doors are called "period cars". Cool to see them on the road and especially painted back like new!!
I much rather have $5000 in a darn nice, cool more door than $40,000 in a pristine 69 Charger!!!!
I've had those Chargers decades ago when they were cheap!!:rofl:

The choice is yours whether you hotrod a four door or not. Personally I think it would be cool to have a ten second more door street car.
 
20+ years ago I considered finding a very nice '75 Valiant Brougham with all the options and swapping the 318 for a 400 dressed out stock for the period (except for the smog stuff). I would have kept the AC/PS/PB/etc. BUT, it never happened, the kids grew up...We do have a four door car now, but it's very modern (2020) and was very CHEAP (about 25% off sticker) AND gets around 45 mpg on the highway without a bank of batteries.

That's a cool car with the slant and 3 on the floor.
It's not on the street yet still finishing up the 3 speed swap and a the 390 holley needs a kit she will run with my dad's 66 post 360 4 speed car . Not out run but keep with lol
 
I have a 74 more door 440 in it prob over 500 HP, 4 wheel disk sub frame coneectors, and boxes etc. Looks totally like a stock old mans car. roof rack, curb feelers clothes rack in the back. Great sleeper till it starts up. Have to find some pics of it.

Funny story about it from a member here.

It’s a cool summer evening as the young man comes to a stop at the red light. He is thinking that it is the last light for quite a distance and what better time than now to test his latest adjustments on his tuner car. The exhaust is ringing with that new Turbo tail pipe that he just installed and the throttle response is immediate. As he quickly scans the gauges to see if everything is in order for a solid run he hears a rumble that at first sounds as though his exhaust is coming apart or leaking. He now notices an older gentleman pulling up in the lane next to him. Ah…thank goodness he thinks, it is his car that is doing the rumbling. The old fellow must be hard of hearing and does not realize his exhaust is making such a noise or perhaps he does not have the money to have his exhaust fixed. The young guy looks over and realizes that it is an old man, and he is driving an “old” car (complete with roof rack) as well. He remembers his father telling him of such a car and fun vacations so many years ago. With a great deal of pride the youngster decides to rev his engine to let the old guy know just what is sitting beside him and the performance the “old coot” is about to witness when the light turns green. As he revs his engine he notices that the older guy never looks over but stares straight ahead. But something else catches the young man’s attention… it is a scoop that begins to rise up out of the hood of the old four door relic complete with roof rack. With very little concern he is wondering what is happening to the old man’s car he begins to press the accelerator of his “tuner car” anxiously waiting for the green light and his chance to show his car off to all who may be watching. But the rumble from the old white car gets louder and stronger as well and the young man begins to wonder if this old gentleman is challenging his finely tuned automobile. It was then that the light turned green and the young man’s foot jumped off of the brakes as his other foot slams the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and his tires begin to smoke as they spin as they try to grip the asphalt for the launch. To the young man’s amazement he notices that his wheels are spinning and grabbing aggressively but the old white car is now moving forward and his is at a standstill…how could this be his speedometer shows 35 in a heartbeat and his engine is singing at the red line on his tach, but it is as though he is not moving because the amazing old four door car, roof rack and all, driven by the older gentleman is steadily pulling away. As he quickly shifts into second gear thinking that this might be his problem he notices even more smoke forming around the rear of the older classic car. Tire smoke that is obviously not his is drifting into his lane. The rumble that he had heard at the red light has now turned in to a thunderous roar of power that is seemingly making the ground around him vibrate. He remembers his father telling him of such cars and in his father’s day they called them sleepers… could this be what he was encountering? As his speed grew even faster he noticed that the beautiful old Dart driven by the charming older gentleman had just left him and his whirring, tinny sounding car behind in smoke. And as the old car pulls away ….etched in the young man’s mind is the question….what is a Popmobile 440? :thumbsup:

My very first Chrysler product was a 1973 Plymouth Fury Connecticut State Police cruiser. Drove a buddy's car and I was hooked. Fast and fun add a set of 4:10’s and small slicks and it’s a stop light terror. That was 1979. Two more retired police cars, a GLHT with a built 2.2, ‘91 Spirit R/T along with three 15 passenger B vans (best tow vehicle ever built) and one had a 440 and 4.10 gears.

With the exception of my 1968 GTS almost all my Chrysler products that provided daily transportation was a “more door” or “lots of doors”. Build one and have fun.

My old ‘68 mustang on the left, bought that in ‘78. 76 Fury police car big block. 1973 Dart Sport 340/727/3.23. Picture is around 1982 with my Son Chris striking a pose.
 
98 Neon 4 door. 2.0 SOHC, 5 speed trans, Adjustable Koni struts, ACR sway bars, 14:1 power rack and pinion, and leather interior. 40+ mpg and great handling.

Oh man, that's yours?? I just picked up a '72 Valiant 4 door and was searching the internet for images that would inspire me -- that picture of yours came up. Love it!

Here's mine, just needs....everything! The plan is to put in a 408 with EFI, I already have the 8.75 rear.

I got a 440 6 pack getting ready for my '75 4 door if life ever slows down.

Yes, that’s my summer daily driver. I had originally bought it 25 years ago as a roller, it was a 318/3 on the tree/8 3/4 with 3.23 open gears/radio delete car with less than 50,000 miles. I gave it to a friend when I was moving, he put a 360 Magnum with a column shift 904 and just pushed the clutch pedal to the floor. He got it to the high 11s, decided he needed less weight, took the drivetrain out (including the 8 3/4) and put it all into a 69 Rambler. I got the car back with an 8.25 with 2.71 gears, and I put a 318 Magnum with a 3-speed manual floor shift, and have been driving it every summer for 10 years.
 
I've thought that if I did ever come across a clean example of a 73-76 A body or a Diplomat/Gran Fury/Fifth Avenue, I'd step up.
 
I personally like four door cars. I think they are under appreciated and make a great classic yet functional hot rod. I've walked right past chevelles, novas, dusters, etc to see that one 4 door at car shows. I love them and love when people fix them up drive and enjoy them. I have been on the lookout for a four door for a future project.
 
There is a group on FB dedicated to just the suicide early Ply!!!! I think they are so cool!!!

I can still see my car bud flying(sorta) up that dusty road headed home in one bout 1964, we were 16!
