My wife and I don't eat much fast food so this came as a real surprise to us. Recently we were out for a drive. The wife likes to see parts of the country she has never seen before. Anyway, we decide to get something to eat and stupid me had forgot my vaccine papers. You have to have them to eat in a restaurant here. We decide to get some good old reliable KFC as it has been pretty much the same since we were kids. We got our chicken diners at the takeout and went to eat them in the far corner of the parking lot. Much to our surprise the chicken was not the same as usual. It didn't even look the same. We ate it but I have to tell you, it was not good. It was probably the worst fried chicken we had ever received from a fast food joint. The rest of the diners were no better. You used to get coleslaw and a bun. These were nowhere to be seen. It was just crappy chicken and fries.

So when did they change the recipe?

Needless to say, we will never order KFC again.

Jack

In the 70's KFC had a lock on Chicken in our area.... Been 20 years since I have personally been into a KFC. Had some at a luncheon years ago with that crap and yes whatever they do today ain't nothing compared to yesteryear......

FYI- Take a pic of your card and put it on your phone....

KFC tenders (sometimes called "Colonel's strips") got me through covid last January.

It was the only thing even remotely appetizing for me.

I literally bought them by the bucket and ate them 3 meals a day for weeks.

Then a few months later I was still having them at least once a week, and they completely changed them.

The chicken was much more fatty and gristly, and the batter wasn't as good and didn't stick to the meat.

I tried four different locations- a couple of them twice, thinking it was a bad batch, but after six attempts, I gave up and haven't been back since.

Too bad.

It's the same as every corp that has been sold , the new owners cut every corner they can to make a goldmine more profitable KFC falls into this category so does Tim Hortons there coffee is no ways close to what it was it's just another cup of **** coffee another one is Red ROSE Tea was a very high quality tea now it's just another cup **** tea . Quality and pride mean nothing to corps it's all bottom line . I just wanna know how stupid they think we really are .

Fool me once.

KFC is NOTHING like it was in the past unfortunately. Not as crispy, salads have changed, one plus is no more shitty Grecian bread.
Worst chicken I've had recently was Popeyes, their gravy was like pea soup.

IMHO, all fast food is garbage. If I eat it, I’m usually finding a toilet within an hour! It all blows right through me anymore.

That Popeye's chicken sandwich, though.....

Had one a few weeks ago.

Still good and one of the best values on their menu.

Popeyes used to have a real bargain on Tuesdays. That special today, not so much. Moe than doubled in price in just a couple years.
I don't even know where to get decent fried chicken now, let alone good stuff.

I sure miss Kenny Roger's Roaster.

Kennyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Chicken looks great! How do you make it so that the skin doesn't get rubbery?

Jack
I smoke it for a couple hours at sub 200° and turn it up to 300° or so to finish it off. The whole chicken is sitting on a can of beer.

It's good, but the oil in it makes my gall bladder want to explode. I ate at a new chick FIL a yesterday. Still good, and fried in peanut oil

How often they change the oil makes a difference too.
