When somebody wants to run over 400 horse thru a 904; on the street, I put them on IGNORE. You guys are proof that the only thing that beats cubic inches is CUBIC DOLLARS.
The more you speak the funnier it gets.......unrealWhen somebody wants to run over 400 horse thru a 904; on the street, I put them on IGNORE. You guys are proof that the only thing that beats cubic inches is CUBIC DOLLARS.
You can drop a 904 clutch THROUGH a 727 clutch. Why spend and extra thousand dollars on extra billet crapola when you can just run a stock 727 and be done with it? The illiterates can go ahead and mis-quote me; consider the source...The 904(originally the TF6) is fine for what it's intended for, but all this worthless encouragement for guys to invest in a 904 if they're running over 400 horse is morally misleading. I'm happy to come on here and trash the myths about torqueflites. Anytime, fellas...
That guy is so out of touch he doesn't even realize that most if not all of the stock and super stock mopar racers out there are either running a 904 or a 727 case with modified to work 904 internals in them but I don't know why i'm wasting my breath actually when once he made the 400 horsepower comment about 904's that pretty much closed the case for me with him. There was a time (and probably still is) where the 904 ruled in Comp Eliminator. Not the big, clunky, overweight 727. It’s a power eating slug.
Like I said above. If you are breaking a 904 go to a TH400 so you can at least get an aftermarket case.
Look what they put in the Challenger Drag Pack. Turbo 400.If you can’t make a 904 live, you get a TH400. Wasting 10 cents on a 727 is just that. You can’t even get an aftermarket case for one.

I'm guessing the reasoning being that it probably uses an aftermarket SFI case and that would be the only reasonLook what they put in the Challenger Drag Pack. Turbo 400.

Correct and if there was a SFI 727 case the fast and smart racers would fill it with 904 parts....LOLRight. If someone made an SFI case for the 727 you could use it.
Another racer thinking street cars should run race parts....WHY??? I think I'll call it "904 Derangement Syndrome"...There are a lot of daily drivers on here that don't need to be advised to spend $2k on a 904 tranny when a 727 will work better and more reliable for them at one tenth the cost.
Perhaps.Correct and if there was a SFI 727 case the fast and smart racers would fill it with 904 parts....LOL
There's that and the Turbo 400 is stronger.I'm guessing the reasoning being that it probably uses an aftermarket SFI case and that would be the only reason
