So Id been planning to build my 69 Dart Custom into a cool driver/daily with carbureted 5.7, upgraded axle n brakes etc. Was going to keep the F6 and black bench interior. But after a year of owning it, i decided to look at the Fender Tag and, umm... V1H!!!
According to the ModTop registry its 1 of 25 Dart Custom Floral Top cars!!! So... No Hemi, no big brakes/big bolt pattern, no 8.75 axle. Now it looks like ill be doing a stock resto on a matching numbers car (i just checked)!!! Its no HemiCuda, but its rarer than one haha!!! Can't believe im so excited about a slant six car- but Ive never had anything "special" or rare-ish before. Funny thing, car changed hands a couple times just before I got it, and a local Mopar "guru" had it and didn't catch what it was!! Works for me!!! So any other Mod/Floral owners/fans out there???

Last weekend at Mecum there was a 1969 mod top Dart with a 318. I think it was restored and went for 70000.00. Maybe you should keep it original. Bobby

3 different types of Mod (Plymouth) and Floral (Dodge) Top and seat vinyl-
'69-'70 Barracuda:

'69 Satellite and '70 Barracuda/Cuda:

Both are (or were) available from SMS, Legendary, and Layson's in a reproduction pattern.
Third is '69 Dart, Coronet and SuperBee:

Not available anywhere that I have heard.

That is awesome.

I bet if you could duplicate the vinyl pattern in art work, you could get it printed onto some heavy vinyl, might have to put some UV protectant clear over it.

But very cool

I passed on a slant six Floral Top 69 Dart slant six in 1995 because of terminal rust in the torsion bar support. I thought about overnight and went back after work the next day. He had already had the car towed to the scrap yard! Still beating myself up for that one...

I love the mod tops! If they had a red one I would put it on my R4 340 Swinger in a heart beat !
Good decision to restore it . Very rare and iconic.

Wow!!! To be honest, I still really want a fast daily/wknd track car, but this car is just to rare (and weird) to alter. So Im gonna go resto with it and then let it go, so I can build my Hemi hotrod LOL. That $70k is crazy!!! I figured that restored, it should be in the 25, maybe $30k range(???)... Don't get me wrong, the more the better haha but I have a hard time wrapping my head around any A-body (except the SS cars)that approaches or surpasses $50k. Dont want to offend everyone here haha, but Ive been a B/E body guy most of my life, and mostly big block '68 Chargers, so the A bodies have never been in my mind as "money" cars... Evidently I stand corrected!!!

Ouch!!! I know Ive had a few of those tragic moments over the years!!!

I heard that Laysons does a run of the material for the Dodges every few years. Im hoping 2022 is the rotation year LOL!!! I
Like I said above, the two Plymouth patterns were available, but not the Dodge. You'd have to contact Layson's to see if what you heard is true, and get on the list if it is.

Its on my to do list this week!! Even though the car hasnt had a thing done to it yet except tuneup items and a starter relay so itd run for first time in 15+ years, I think the top material qualifies as "long lead time", so Ill be looking into it asap!!

This is why you should decode every car . Never know when one might be a lost gem .

I totally agree..and this of course, is the first time Ive ever not decoded somthing before I even brought it home!!

Well finally took the time n heard good news!! Looks like Laysons DOES have some Dodge Floral material coming... But theyre a supply chain victim like everyone else, so itll be mid summer before it appears (at earliest). Doubtful ill be ready for it then, but Ill sure be buying it!!

don't send them a dime before you can physically touch that material.
