My dad (IMFURYS) recently passed away and I inherited his 1972 Fury III. I'm working on getting it completely fixed back to how he had it. I just had the ignition switch replaced. But now there's a buzzing/humming noise on the passenger side of the dash...but only when the headlights are one. Anyone have any ideas of what could be some causes, or what I can look at getting repaired?

Make sure your headlight and turn signal ground wires up on the core support are making good contact.

Clean them up. Most of these cars are 50 years old, clean all your electrical connections.

When electricity can't get back to the battery though a good ground it backfeeds and does all kinds of crazy things.

Electricity follows the path of least resistance. And if that means going through all the wires in your dash to get back to ground so be it.

Pull all your fuses out too and clean them and their holders up with scotch brite pads for good connections.

Thank you!! I should be getting the car back this weekend, so I'll start doing some digging and checking all of that stuff. I appreciate the response!

Some had a warning buzzer that turned on if you opened the drivers doors with the headlights on. If your car has this option it could be malfunctioning.

With that basic service you may stumbled across whatever it is that is making things buzz.

Its the headlight warning buzzer. close the door Start the car and it should go off. It is there to warn you your headlights are on
It only does it when the car is started. I'm not sure if the doors are shut, but I know the car is on.

Seat Belt Buzzer?

Got rid of that on a '74 Dart Swinger I had, and it was creating a no start situation besides.

Eliminated that out of the wiring harness system like it was never there.

I don't think so. It only does it when you turn the headlights on. When I get the car back in the next few days, I'm going to try and tinker around with it some more and see if I can eliminate anything easy.

OP wander over to MyMopar and download a free service manual. That one, and several others over there, got there because of guys from here

Thank you! My dad had actually printed off the entire service manual for the vehicle awhile back. It's just out of order. I'm slowly going through and putting it all in a binder in the correct order.
